  • Comments Thread For: Steward Likely To Work With Tyson Fury in The Future

Trainer Emanuel Steward advised BoxingScene.com that he will likely continue to work with British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (15-0, 10KOs) in the future. Steward is the trainer of WBO/WBA/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko. The veteran trainer had spoken to Fury on Saturday, which is the same day the 22-year-old heavyweight scored the biggest win of his career with a twelve round domination of Dereck Chisora at Wembley Arena.

Fury isnt a hard puncher at all, he is an arm puncher he doesnt put anything behind it. If he learnt proper punching technique he could do well though. Fury has got a massive amount to learn he is years off being a top class heavyweight.

I have been told Fury only sparred with Wlad and work with Steward for a few weeks, although it would be nice for Fury to learn from Steward the last thing i would like to see is the Wlad jab grab and hold we dont want anymore of that.

3-5 Years under the right trainer Fury could become at the least a HW contender, he is very raw atm.

Manny Stewturd is the Don King of trainers. He's just looking out for his own future since Fury will make him money now that the ****kos are almost retired. Mannys endorsement is always up for sale. Fury is a turd but he's very young and theres no one really out there right new with The ****kos and KING David Haye retiring soon

steward will work on fury until fury is at that level to take on wlad, maybe he will allow himself to train fury for a vitali match up.

fury needs to lose a bit more weight, though he is in good shape now though.

He needs to learn to get full turn and power on his punches.

mix up short range punching with sharp long 1-2 combinations.

learn some more defense including being tall and out of range.

I do like his inside fighting ability though,it could work well should he face wlad.

His speed and movement/co-ordination could improve some.

I wonder if price will do a job on him if price beats mcdermott.

ide love price and fury to get 20 fights under thier belts then both fight each k bro.

            price vs wlad.

            fury vs vitali?

fury has more of a chin and can go toe to toe better.

price is more techinical and can box better vs wlad than fury would, although maybe fury v wlad would be better for fury?

Borh the actual comment and Stewards reply may be skewed a little but by whom, I don't know. The actual comment, that we have ALL been reading was'
manny Steward told me that I hit HARDER than the Wladimir Klitschko". Now.....it has been reduced to "hit "as hard" as the Klitschkos...."

And Steward, of course, diplomatically agrees.

Am I the only one that thinks Tyson Fury resembles a hot dog? He looks like a total meathead!

Tyson Fury is really entertaining, of course not the best yet but maybe one day. He ain't boring thats for sure, but so far I think his chin looks pretty damn solid. Chisora did land a couple of bombs on his chin. He also goes to the body more then most Heavyweights are willing to do because they fear of being countered.

Fury has a few things working for him right now. Question will be how much time Steward really devotes to him. Fury still needs some serious work and I just dont steward is going to give him the kind of attention he could use.
