Ortiz has a punchers chance, but I like Khan in that fight big time.
Ortiz fought a great fight against Berto, but you have to look at the styles and context of the fight. Berto was not throwing any punches, his workrate was appauling, he laid on the ropes for long periods and did nothing, he had no gameplan whatsoever. He was trying to hit Ortiz with a homerun all night and that was it, he barely threw any combinations. Khan would use footwork, technique, jab and straight punches. It is a completely different fight, a great fight, but totally different. Roach would have khan use movement and stay oustside, khan would move to his right away from Ortiz right hook.
People keep making the same mistake with Khan, they view him as vulnerable, not strong or durable, and don't respect his power, a little like Mayweather as he moved through the weights, fighters and fans underestimate khans size and strength. As long as they keep thinking a jackpot punch will KO him, and continue to head hunt against him they will continue to lose. 1 punch will not get it done against this kid anymore.
It is a very competitive fight but I see Khan UD. Lets hope we get to see it. My guess is...after september Ortiz will have another loss and the fight will not happen for a while.Comment

No way.
Maidana is not "really good" he's an average fighter no doubt about it. But, you making it seem as if Berto wasn't an average fighter. Berto might be better than Maidana. But, Kotelnik>>>>both.ohhhh how clever. kinda comeback u wld expect from a pre pubescent twit. maidana is better than berto, lmao!
maidana has close fights with a shot morales and a shot corley. yea, hes really good. his claim to fame is outslugging ortiz in a fight where he was clearly losing.

Berto was over hyped and overrated getting HBO dates and a title that he never deserved. Especially since he beat a Mexican cop to get said title. And, now Ortiz is being over hyped and overrated by beating an average to above average fighter.
LOL @ the other poster who who's claiming Ortiz being "weight drained" at 140 as excuse to his inconsistencies as a fighter. No weight drained fighter will ask for a catch-weight close to the weight where he's supposedly weight drained. And, another LOL saying he fought like a "mad man" against an average to above fightersComment

And, yes Khan is lightyears better than Ortiz. And, in a H2H match up would outbox the living hell out Ortiz. Make him look silly.
However, stylistically Ortiz would do better against Mayweather than what Khan would do.
Ortiz still has slim to zero chance in beating Floyd though. Khan has even a lesser chance than that in beating Floyd. Ortiz best bet is that age and inactivity has caught up with Floyd and Floyd just got old over night.Comment

Floyd picks people when they have just made a name for themselves but are essientially still green.
It would the same if he had of picked khan after he first comeback win after Presscot. Khan is further down the line than Ortiz is, with many notable wins under his belt.Comment

Two different types of fighters and a totally different fight than the Judah fight.
I love the way fans get all hyped up after their fighter just won...lol. Khan is a damn good fighter, don't get me wrong but I also think Judah isn't as good as some people give him credit for at this stage of his career.
He has looked like **** in his last 3 fights, arguably losing 2 of the 3 and in his last fight, had to come back from a knockdown to win.
Judah is done, Ortiz is a much different opponent and would be bigger and stronger than Khan. It would make for a great fight. Could Khan keep Ortiz outside for 12 rounds, or would Ortiz work his way inside and dominate Khan?
That would be the question. I would put money on Ortiz because I don't think Khan could keep him off of him for 12 rounds.Comment

No he isn't.That is just a silly a$$ statement.Their skills are comparable.Ortiz also has fast hands. At welterweight he's strong, really strong.Khan has a size advantage over all his oponents at 140.he won't have one against Ortiz at 147.
And btw,Berto is better than everyone Khan has faced,it's not even really debatable.if they fight at 147,what's gonna happen after Ortiz drops him.like they say, numbers don't lie.I'd pick Ortiz over Khan & Maidana at welterweight easily.Comment

I also question Khan's recovery because after the 10th round against Maidana, he looked weak in the following rounds. Two different types of fighters and a totally different fight than the Judah fight.
