The rules clearly state that any shot on the belly button and above is a legal punch. Posters on here claiming that it was an illegal punch are making the assumption that they know where Zab's bellybutton is, and that Khan hit bellow the belly button.

    1. We can't see Zab's belly button because it is covered by his trunks' waistband.
    2. Khan's punch landed on the waistband.

Logically, this was a legal punch, absolutely. I thought Harold Lederman made some fine few points on this matter for those who are interested.

The punch was legal. Judah wanted a way out of the fight and he found an excuse..

[QUOTE=BennyST;10888941]Ahaaa....this is the first time I've seen it. I think that's pretty clearly a low blow and as much as I don't give a toss about Judah, and he should have just gotten up anyway, it was an obvious low blow.

Coming up from underneath to hit the bottom section of the belt line while you're are bent over like Judah was is flat out a low blow. Whatever though, it wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome. Judah was done as a top fighter years ago now and it was all but over before they even got into the ring. Bastard could have at least gotten up and given it one more go. He was obviously wanting to get it over and done with and so a weak ass low blow seemed like a good reason. He could have at least waited until a bad one....[/QUOTE

I agree...the punch came from a down to up angle...it made conctact well below the belt line and ended up right under the the waist...it was not a legal punch by any means...anything below the belly button is usually considered a low blow...but zab should not have been stopped by that punch and was clearly acting like it was much worse than what it was...he hit mayweather well below the belt line and then in the back of the head and Floyd NEVER went down to the canvas...so he deserved to lose...i can't stand these generations of floppers.

It was legal and even if it wasn't this is a non-issue as Judah was completely outclassed for every second of the fight. Even if it were ruled a low blow the knockout would have simply been slightly postponed to rounds 7 or 8. There was absolutely nothing indicating a turn of tides in that fight.

No mate. The belt line, as it's often termed, is the line at the belly button. Trust me, I know the rules and it has nothing to do with the actual belt line, though that is the typical place of the trunks and thus is said to be 'below the belt'. It's why when the ref will point to certain areas of the trunks and says "This here is ok" or "These are too high. Pull 'em down" because they are meant to be at the line of the belly button.

The 'belt line' is officially the belly button. So, with all due respect or not as I don't really give a **** with your patronising ****e as you don't have a godamned clue, the belt line is officially at the height of the belly button.

If you still don't believe it, go ask an official judge.

Or let me put it a more simple way: If it was only the belt line, why do the judges always make sure the belt line isn't above the belly button.

The line for a low blow is the belly button. That most often corresponds with the belt line. That is simple and is where the term belt line comes from.

If you look up official professional boxing rules it's the line of the belly button that the belt line has to be at. Anything under is a low blow. Like I said though, who really cares? It was a weak as hell blow, and Judah *****ed out. Whether it was low or not, he should have gotten up.

              Christ....

Edit: on a side note, we're are arguing semantics here. Anything below the belt line is a low blow, unless the belt line (ie the trunks) is above the belly button. The belly button is the same on all of us in general and thus is the line where you can't have your trunks higher than and is why you can't hit below the belt line because they have been put at the belly button. Got it?
I don't know with you guys argueing on technicalities, the thing is, if Zab really wanted to continue with the fight, he should have gotten up, take his 1-2 minutes of rest that the ref will surely give him if it needed be, then continue with the fight... But Zab quitted, plain and simple, he was clearly getting beat up, i really thought Zab has changed and finally got his focus rectified with Pernell's help, BUT it is not what it is suppose to be.... Great win for AMIR!!!!

It was close, but clearly on the belt line. Legal punch.

It was on the belt line to me.

It was certainly not enough to take Judah to the canvas for a 10 count anyway. Zab was looking for a way out and he found it. He quit.

On the belt-line, legal for me. Besides it doesnt look like it hit the cup directly, it looked like a bodyshot KD.

When you get hit to the nuts the reaction is instant and painfull, you wouldnt go down but you would scream in pain and hold both your nuts with both hands.

With a body KD there is a delayed reaction because it takes a few sec for the Oxygen to exit your system and leave your muscles gasping for air, exactly what happened here.

He couldnt get up because bodyshots are the worst, find me a video where a dude gets hit CLEANLY in the nuts and isnt able to get up quickly?

Im not talking full power straight to the cup, im talking grazing or soft shots at same angle.

Having watched enough boxing that was a body punch, looked like a body punch, went down like a body punch, stayed down like a body punch.

Trust me, if Zab got hit with a lowblow and got counted out he wouldve went loco, he was just trying to save face
