8CountNews sat down with Freddie Roach this morning and got his thoughts on tonight's big Amir Khan Vs. Zab Judah fight. Roach also shares his thoughts on the ongoing Michael Koncz saga. Freddie is watching the situation very closely and supports Pacquiao's decision to bring in some experts to look at financial records.
BC - Thanks for talking to 8CN on the day of the big Khan Vs. Judah fight.
FR - No problem Brad
BC - Give me your thoughts on this fight. Judah is a world champ again, and Khan is a world champ, this one could be interesting.
FR - Yea, it's the best fighting the best. I think it's going to be a really good fight. My guy is 100 percent ready, we had a great training camp, great sparring, and we didn't have to fly all over the world for this camp. We had a 10 week camp right here in Los Angeles. My guy is 100 percent ready.
BC - I talked to Alex Ariza the other day, he was really excited about Amir's conditioning.
FR - Yea, we did everything that we were supposed to do. Amir's work ethic was great. This is the best camp that we have ever had.
BC - Zab Judah is a 4 time world champion. Khan has yet to face a guy with this much experience. Is this Khan's biggest test?
FR - Yes this is a big test. Zab brought in Pernell Whitaker and they made some changes. They seem to get along with each other but 1st time Zab gets hit, he will go back to what he always does. Zab will be Zab.
BC - Do you think Amir Khan will knockout Zab?
FR - Yes.
BC - Do you think it will be early or late?
FR - If Zab runs it will be late. If he stands and fights, it will be early.
BC - Let's move on and talk on the Koncz and Pacquiao situation. It looks to me from my vantage point, Koncz has basically been stripped down to a dramatically less powerful role. Can you elaborate?
FR - I'm just watching it like everyone else is. I don't have any inside knowledge, but I think it's a good thing that Manny brought in people to take a look at his numbers. They need to make sure that everything is on the up and up, you know?
BC - Do you think this is something that Manny should have done years ago?
FR - Yes I do. Manny makes a lot of money, and there are so many people going in different directions with it so he needs to know where it goes.
BC - Manny as you know is a very generous man. When I see 20 to 30 people follow him everywhere he goes it's always made me su****ious.
FR - When you have that many people around you, you never know who's doing what. Everyone is trying to hustle and trying to get a piece for themselves. There are a lot of really nervous people right now I would say.
BC - Changing gears, Mayweather called out Khan's name. Any thoughts on that?
FR - If they offer that right now, I would take that fight today. I welcome the challenge.
BC - I know you are busy, so I will wrap this up. Give the fans some closing thoughts.
FR - Everyone tune in tonight and watch Amir Khan do his thing. Thanks to all of the fans out there who support my fighters.
