American Homecooking: Can Froch get a decision in the States?

Given the heavy backing that american fighters get from officials in the states it doesnt bode well for froch if he pulls out a great fight and manages to win enough rounds to justify a decision.

Whether you call recent alexander fights against kotelnik & mattysse bad decisions, close fights or daylight robbery, or what you think of the judah mattysse decision or even the williams lara fight, its pretty clear that the american needs to be stopped in a lot of these situations.

Other recent decisions that were particularly bad were cintron v martinez and funeka v guzman in vegas and im sure there have been others too.

The super six final is being held in the boardwalk, atlantic city, site of the recent lara/williams farce and it was also the host of the first williams/martinez razor close fight where we saw the bizarre 119 - 110 score to williams benefit.

I just cant see froch being awarded a decision, even if he wins rounds they will just award them to ward, who has been at the nice end of a few scorecards himself, like a shutout against bika where bika clearly won a few rounds. I dont see any reason why its just not going to be more of the same.

Whether its people, networks or promotional companies influencing officials, biased officials, corrupt or incompetent officials or a combination of the above or something else, im hoping that whatever happens its not another judging controversy but wouldn’t be in the slightest bit surprised if it was.

No way will he get the decision in America, but of course he couldnt win even if the judges were only slightly biased in his favor either. He cant win a decision because Ward is a better boxer than he is.

I agree ward is the better boxer but even if froch somehow manages to make it a scrappy fight and wins some of the scrappy rounds or hell, even if he did manage to win say 7 out of 12 or more, he still wont get awarded the decision, i dont think thats right

Glen Johnson doesn't have a shady promoter tho, or atleast I don't think so. Hell Johnson has gotten a screwed on several of his fights. You can't look at Johnson and feel that America is fair because America is usually never fair to Johnson. And Johnson isn't an American, isn't he a Jamaican born citizen?

Carl Froch said Ward has feather dusters for hands, so with that being said *I see no reason why his fans shouldn't expect anything but a KO from him.

Given that Jack Woodburn had him up 106-102 vs Jermain Taylor which was an awful scorecard, I can assume he can get points even if he doesnt deserve them.
