The legendary Madison Square Garden in New York will be the stage for the rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito on 3 December.
Promoter Bob Arum confirmed to Primera Hora, that he came to an agreement with the administration of the famous Coliseum.
"Because the next fight of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will be in Las Vegas, we understood that the best place to mount Cotto-Margarito 2 is the Madison Square Garden," Arum said by telephone from France, where he is enjoying a vacation.
Margarito is responsible for the first loss in Cotto's career when they met in 2008. Although Cotto looked in control during the first part of the fight, eventually succumbed to the constant pressure of Margarito and he lost via TKO in the eleventh assault.
"It will be a more exciting fight than the first," said Arum.
Arum, on the other hand, pointed to plans for a press tour to promote the event.
"Once we return to the United States to organize a press tour with stops in Puerto Rico and Mexico," he said.
