I think writing off a 5 time world champ as a gatekeeper is a bit harsh. he has come up short against the elite of his era though. I'm not sure Khan is ready to be called elite yet, we'll see..

KHAN Is CREDIBLE; I Respect He Wants To Take Chances. Unlike Mayweather & Roy Jones
Who can fault Khan for that?!!? Wants to take chances to fight the best, and biggest names in Boxing, and seek them out of heavier weight classes if he has to. Listen, that's what makes LEGENDS! Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Hagler, Arguello, even Dela Hoya, Mosley, and Pacquiao made legends of their careers, by fighting "THE BEST OF THE BEST, IN THEIR PRIMES, MULTIPLE TIMES, WIN, LOSE, OR DRAW". Those were the epitome of "SUPER-FIGHTS". When Leonard fought Hearns twice.... Hagler's three round war with Hearns... Leonard fighting Duran twice.... Hearns fighting Duran... Leonard after 5 years removed from the game climbing back in the ring with the baddest man on the planet at the time, Marvin Hagler. Dela Hoya fighting Mosley twice, Dela Hoya fighting Trinidad, Quartey, Bernard Hopkins. Mosley fighting much larger, and in their primes Hall of Famers Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright. Pacquiao fought Marquez twice, soon to be a third time, fought Barrera, Cotto, Margarito, Dela Hoya, Mosley both at the end of their careers, but they wanted a pice of Manny. Those fights were legendary. TODAY...it's all about the BLING...... the meaningless BELTS...... the P4P...... Nobody fights anybody that proposes much risk anymore...... today's fighters and management are all about protecting their careers..... THE LEAST AMOUNT OF RISK IN THE RING TO GET TO THE BANK SAFE AND SOUND. Runaway Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones Jr. were all about hand picking their opponents, to protect their reign. Floyd is gutless, and Roy waited till too late in his career to take any risks, then got destroyed by Tarver, Glenn Johnson, Danny Green, Calzaghe, Hopkins, and more recently Lebedev. THE FACT Amir Khan wants to take on risk, and follow the paths of real leagends before him is very credible, a fighter with character, with heart... hard to find these days.Comment

These people posting comments truely dont realize that the best boxers are not the big names, but the boxer who gets in the ring and fights everybody with no excuses, regardless if he got knocked out or not. Avoiding Breidis Prescott and running around fighting everybody but him will not cut it.Comment

Are you prescott looking for a payday? Don't worry, I doubt you get passed McCloskey for anyone to talk about you ever again. These people posting comments truely dont realize that the best boxers are not the big names, but the boxer who gets in the ring and fights everybody with no excuses, regardless if he got knocked out or not. Amir said he wants to take risks, good. Since you want to become a real champion, take a risk and fight the guy (Breidis Prescott) that knocked your ass out sweetly. You know he is waiting to rematch you. No excuses about records, etc. Take a real risk, or you can be a fight-ducker like Mayweather.Comment
