Just a few months shy of the anniversary of the 2001 moment he is still so identified by, Zab Judah stepped in with an IBF belt and a strong headwind for a unification bout with Kostya Tzsyu. Did that say bout? Maybe the right word was supposed to be coronation, so strongly was Judah favored in some corners of the boxing establishment.

Tszyu’s second round knockout win remains a memorable moment in contemporary fistic lore. It was the beginning of a turbulent career that saw Judah post a big win over Cory Spinks for the Welterweight crown and losses to just about everyone else who mattered (including Spinks the first time around).

With Amir Khan, it really was easy to see it coming.

His early career moments of vulnerability seemed to build to the crescendo that was his 2008 first round shelling at the hands of Breidis Prescott. For the 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist from Britain, it’s what has come since that is striking. Dominant wins over legitimate top ten Jr. Welterweights like Paulie Malignaggi, Andriy Kotelnik, and Marcos Maidana have shown growth, Maidana in particular providing an epic gut check.

What he hasn’t faced yet is a skilled veteran who retains both speed and one-punch knockout power.

Actually Khan didn't see the punches coming that nearly did for him in the 10th. Maidana's lack of speed is made too much of, IMO - he throws from unorthodox angles, has great accuracy and timing, and when he trains properly, he always manages to put his opponents under severe non-stop pressure. Those factors more than make up for his lack of speed, and he lands big punches on all his opponents, however good their defence. Ask Kotelnik.

What this fight will turn on, however, IMO, is whether Khan has learnt the lessons from what went wrong in the 10th round of that fight. Basically, he still hadn't learnt to clinch effectively when hurt, and I would imagine that Roach has been drilling him on that in training ever since. Judah is likely to land something big on Khan at some stage, and if Khan clinches effectively enough to survive when that happens, then he will outbox Judah. If he doesn't, he'll lose.

Fancy betting 5 million points on that? I know you have some much bigger bets already but 5 million is a lot for me and is as much as I'd bet on a single fight. But I'm pretty sure Khan will survive this fight and get a UD or late stoppage.

If Zab wins it would be more than just a minor upset in my opinion. He never beat an elite level opponent in his prime, and now he is old and ringworn.

I'm expecting Khan to blast him out.

I expect the same,but I give Judah a decent shot..A lot of his loses are due to mental weakness not because anything physical..If Zab's mental game is on point he is going to give Khan some serious problems..But I think Khan will weather the storm and win 7 rds to 5..

Rome just admit it you are actually a former Bradley fan turned Khan fan because you are just sick of overhyped African American boxers with padded records who never fight anyone decent and stall anyone who has a chance of beating them by dropping rival promotors and OST and then cash out in a big fight in an embarrasing fashion by throwing one lazy jab a round like Mosley and to top it all off complain they are not getting the kind of recognition they deserve because they are black.

I think khan is going to win on the cards because once he feels judahs power, I expect him to move and pot shot all night.. Zab will get frustrated and start coming in face first and get tagged all night... But it wouldnt be too bad if Zab caught him with one of those uppercuts and sparked him out
