Comments Thread For: ESPN2 Quick Results: Martinez Shocks Elegele

By Jake Donovan - In tonight’s ESPN2 Friday Night Fights main event, Anthony Dirrell – who along with his brother and Super Six dropout Andre Dirrell served on the 2004 US Olympic boxing squad – takes on Kevin Engel live from the Morongo Casino Resort at Cababzon, California.

The televised opener saw yet another undefeated prospect lose his “0” on the long running series. Welterweight prospect Joseph Elegele was floored early and battered late en route to a huge upset technical decision win for late replacement Aron Martinez.

Scores were 76-75 and 77-74 (twice) in their eight round bout. [Click Here To Read More]

I thought the referee was going to stop the fight after Kevin Engel got up after the k.o. He looked glassy eyed and slow moving when going to his corner. It was funny seeing the mouth piece fly from Kevin Engel's mouth when Anthony Dirrell clocked him.

Anthony punched the **** outta that guy's balls lmao, I can't believe the ref didn't see it. It's probably the 1st KO I've ever seen due to a nut shot.
