I just think its corny how the TS doesn't count the jab as the punch for this poll. I mean...really? Jabs have a lot more uses then setting up punches. It can even be used defensively. It can keep opponents from coming in. OR it can also be used to stop an opponent in its track. A simple snapping jab with the right timing can stop Pacquiaos aggression. People say that a jab isn't a hurting punch (which is why I think the TS isn't counting the jabs), but believe me...if a person runs right into a jab, you will feel it. So why shouldn't the jab count?? Because Manny doesn't use it to hurt, but instead uses it to set up punches? That, my friend, is corny.

even i don't subscribe to taking away the jabs in a thread like this.....as it completes the numerical stats under discussion...

however, as i have pointed out in my previous posts here, this is a very subjective issue...and as useful as a compu box numbers are; these numbers do not really tell what went on a fight...

a fighter's most likely intention is to land the punch and hurt his opponent squarely.....

but fighters also throws a lot of punches for so many varied reasons or intentions..as you have pointed out very well above...

the point is, even if the thrown punches missed, for compu box and even to some audiences, the punches are a failure....coz these were missed shots...and counted as such...for the fighter, it may not be the same story..

now, being subjective, is the thread a failure?

i think not.....the number of posts indicates it has earned the interest of many posters..

i also enjoy going over thru the details and logic of some posts here, regardless if these agree with my view or not....
