pac fans trying so hard yet still fail. They dont count the jab, and on top of that, look at Mannys opponents. Did you ever think he did better against them because floyd doesnt fight fighters that are shot to shreds? Floyd fought better versions of ODLH, Ricky Hatton, and Shane Mosley. That is pretty much a fact, yet im sure pac fans will say otherwise. Yet the stats are still pretty much equal, despite all the bias for Pac, which really tells you something...

The jab is fundamental.........the most important punch in boxing. It helps set everything else up. If pacquiao has a ****y jab it's his own weakness, whereas it's mayweathers strength.

Floyd: Total punches = 498/970 = 51%
Jabs: 270/526 = 51% = 11.25/rd.
Power punches: 228/444 = 51% = 9.5/rd.

Pac: Total punches 698/1796 = 39%
Jabs: 110/730 = 15% = 4.6/rd.
Power punches: 588/1066 = 55% = 24.5/rd.

Based on these stats, Floyd is definitely the more accurate puncher. But does that mean he is the more effective and better boxer? Once you go into the details, it becomes clear that this is not the case. He throws more accurate jabs and lands an average of 6.5 more per round than Pac. Jabs can increase a boxers stats on punches landed, but as an offensive weapon, it pales in comparison with power punches.

On the other hand, Pac's jabs land at a measly 4.6 per round, pulling his average down to 39%. But when you separate his power punches from his total output, his accuracy shoots up considerably. Pac's power punches land at an average of 55%. That is higher than Floyd's 51%. Plus, he lands them at an average of 24.5 per round. That is 15 more than Floyd's total power punches per round. These figures show the big difference in their offensive skills.

Now, to the question as to who is the more effective boxer, you just have to ask yourself; if you have a choice, which fighter would you rather face?
