Why don't boxing gyms teach "Roy Jones" or "Maravilla" Boxing?

Why dont gyms teach boxing with your hands down and loading up on hooks throwing punches from your waist?

Works for the best boxer today, Sergio

    Worked for Roy Jones

    and again with Sergio

Boxing gyms should try different things instead of teaching boring a$$ gloves up and not dropping your hands after your throw a punch and keepin your elbows in. There should be a gym for a fighter who want to be exciting and be the best because it clearly is working for the best...

Because when you start to lose your athleticism, you end up getting knocked out in a round by guy's like Danny Green.

do nothing in your career for 12-13 years then win a couple of fights against slightly above average fighters and have everyone overrate you?

simply because textbook boxing was and always will be a self defense first for the common man. i wouldn't be surprised if more than 90% of the guys who attempt to box like a roy jones or an ali get themselves knocked eff out. their unique styles were attributed to their exceptional, god-given talent that most men just don't have...so hands the hell up, chin the hell down.

Let me put it this way...

The style that Martinez, Roy Jones and Mayweather share a long with other fighters isn't new and it IS taught in many gyms.

The mistake your making is the same mistake most uninformed boxing fans make and that is that it's not a style ANYONE can just take on. It's not like all of a sudden you decide to drop your hands and become as fast as all these guys you just named.

You have to have the natural speed, reflexes and hand eye coordination to pull this off. I would say 98% of people don't.

Also, if you look at early fights and amateur fights, the learned the proper way first and then adjusted and made their own style, but it took years and years of work and practice.

Also, how did that hands down slick technique work for Roy Jones once his reflexes were gone? He was KO'd, that's how.

Moral of the story, you are NOT Roy Jones Jr, never will be so I suggest you keep your hands up if you want to stay awake in the ring.
