I know Lampley is, but I think hes sort of a tool. I never knew Larry drank before commentating, is this true?

I don't mind him. When I think of HBO Boxing I always think of him and Lampley. Funny thing is, it seems like Lampley is too scared to disagree with Merchant, or Foreman or Jones for that matter. I like Lampley's voice and commentating, but he gets way too excited over medicore punches.

Anyone agree?

agreed. i dont remember what fight it was, but fighter A lands a great left hook on fighter B but jim says "a great left jab by fighter B!" and im thinking "what the hell is he talking about?" and lampley also mixes up facts like fighters names, weights, measurements, etc.
