If Roger Mayweather didnt train Floyd Jr when he was younger...

Would Floyd be the same fighter as he is today?

Floyd has always been a very good fighter even when he was trained by his dad before Roger took over.

I thought Floyd Sr trained Floyd Jr when he was younger? I remember reading Roger took over as Floyd's trainer when he was already pro, hence why he dropped the aggressive style he had at lighter weights and became the defensive fighter he is known for today. Not sure.

I think it would be different. His right hand wouldn't be the same if his uncle wasn't the one to engineer it.

Yes. Like ****m Richardson says Floyd has that God given talent & he was always going to be a hell of a fighter. But I do think he made Floyd a bit more defensively minded, but that might just be me.

I guess, but still Roger harnessed those what Floyd learned and made strategies in his earlier fights.

His father tought him to be a defensive ala the shoulder roll and Roger added the offensive arsenal to him he needed to both. Sr is a better strategist than Roger the only thing Roger says is box that muthaf**ka lol.

At least somebody knows what the hell they talking about. Mayweather Sr. was the one who was real defensive and Roger is the one who opened up PBF offense more. Even though Roger made PBF more offensive at the lower weights I think PBF would be a much better fighter if he could have stayed being trained by his father. I just think his father overall is better for him than Roger.

Also Mayweather Sr. trained PBF all the way up until he got locked up. So Sr. laid all that stuff down for PBF and Roger just picked up later on in life and helped move him along. PBF was truly blessed with God given talent but he was also blessed to have his father and uncle as trainers because they both are real good and know what they are doing.
