Bob Arum refuses to comment on the 800lb gorilla in the room. There's no way to dodge or sidestep it. Arum clearly doesn't care what fans think as long as in the end he makes lots of money. He knows that after all this hype EVERYONE will still buy Mayweather/Pacquiao. Nothing he could do would stop that ... even admitting that Pacquiao was shooting kool-aid through the mainline.

*******s don't seem to mind being shown that their opinions and desire to hear what's happening isn't important to Top Rank. Top Rank sees them as weak minded peasants too. So much so in fact that Top Rank has already counted the *******s money that they'll make REGARDLESS of how Arum treats them.

Arum could publicly call the Philippines a "hill of mud" and *******s would rush to rub his feet. That's how desperate *******s are for recognition. They'll tolerate ANYTHING as long as Pacquiao seems like he is doing well in the media.

If Floyd were pulling this **** everyone including me would be calling him a coward who is clearly avoiding a fight the fans want to see. If Floyd was pulling this crap the boxing world would have it all over the front page of Ring Magazine. They would be screaming about it on ESPN. They would have Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley recite some long diatribe after the Judah/Khan fight talking specifically about how he was ducking and making himself look like a coward.

Instead, everyone is hush hush about the little oriental media creation who is making EVERYONE a lot of money. Arum has a HUGE piece of Pacquiao. Golden Boy has 25% of Pacquiao. Roach and Koncz get paid out of Pacquiao's end. All the sparring partners, cornermen and the rest of Team Pacquiao is paid out of Pacquiao's end. HBO supported Pacquiao but Arum wanted to try to get more money by jumping ship to CBS and failed.

Cotto, Margarito and Clottey ... all Top Rank stablemates of Pacquiao ... have made their highest paydays to lay down as lambs for Pacquiao. Two of them donated vacant titles. The other silenced rumors of Pacquiao avoiding Black fighters.

Everyone is getting paid by Pacquiao. Even in defeat. So no one wants to kick the new golden goose in the nuts because he lacks a champion's heart. Pappy Arum has made everything so easy for him up until now. Arum has tried to make it easy again by offering Mayweather tens of millions to forgo the tests, but his money ain't doing the trick.

I guess the only way Mayweather will get that kind of support is to let Bob Arum or Don King slave him. You have to be willing to sell your soul in order for the promoters to put their clout behind you so that the media will celebrate your success.

Now Floyd just has to settle for being the best and richest of this era and the fighter who gets credit for fighting the #1 and #2 WW champions(Mosley and Ortiz' rank when they signed to fight Floyd). Floyd will never be the media darling who gets praised for competing for 5 vacant titles. Floyd would never have been hailed as P4P#1 for using catchweights to weaken fighters in a division where he could have made the weight. Floyd would never have been seen as great for using hydration clauses that stipulate that his competition cannot show up on fight night above a certain weight .. so that they would be drained and dehydrated.

I'm sure he saw how the media treated Roy Jones Jr. I'm sure he saw how the greatest boxer of this generation and maybe of the last 30 years never got the credit he earned and deserved because he didn't want to deal with Arum or King. Floyd watched as Jones beat a P4P#1, unified a division, won a HW title and looked incredible doing it all. Yet all the while the media critics kept saying Jones needed to more to deserve their praise.

Mayweather isn't going to make those mistakes. Arum hates him for it. Real fans celebrate him for kicking the fat cat in the balls and taking his lunch money.

At this point whether Pacquiao takes the tests or not is inconsequential in my mind.

Floyd has done something that Pacquiao hasn't ever done and it was the smart move: He came clean and showed TRANSPARENCY.

I've been saying it all along. Transparency is the only shot that Mayweather had against the Top Rank fueled media machine. Mayweather doesn't have the media guns that Arum has and he knows that. I'm almost sure that he has more evidence of how things transpired, but he won't reveal it until its clear that there is absolutely no chance for a Pacquiao match.

Its not what we wanted, but its a clear victory for Floyd Mayweather. We want the damn fight, but if all I can get is Top Rank exposed for being a media manipulator and Pacquiao exposed for being a media creation, then beggars can't be choosers.

If and when Mayweather defeats Ortiz, his next choice will really be a tough one. He'll have to go up and fight at jrMW. WW is all but dead outside of Ortiz right now. That's why Pacquiao chose to go down and fight a lightweight four years after it should have happened.

The funny thing is that if Mayweather would have fought Cotto before Pacquiao, a win wouldn't have meant anything because Cotto got wrecked by Margarito. Now that Cotto is looking at a rematch with Margarito, Mayweather could fight the winner of that match and win the jrMW belt to entice Martinez to meet him down at 154. Pacquiao is missing the boat.
