It appears there's a leak in Manny Pacquiao's camp if you believe Roger Mayweather. The uncle to undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., has once again accused Manny Pacquiao of taking steroids. However, this time Roger claims that his source for these claims comes from people within Manny Pacquiao's camp. According to a Monday report by Examiner.com, Roger Mayweather made the following comments about Pacquiao and his friend Amir Khan:
“The only reason Amir Khan has become the fighter he is, is because he’s got those steroids in his a*s too. The same thing Pacquiao’s got in him. I know because those motherf**kers told me."
When pushed further by Examiner's Chris Robinson, Roger revealed who his source was for his claims against Pacquiao and now Amir Khan: Motherf**kers from Pacquiao’s camp, that’s who. I talk to them dudes all the time.”
I highly doubt that Roger talks to anyone from Pacquiao's camp, at least not anyone in Manny's inner circle. Without evidence of Manny taking any steroids, these claims are baseless and continue to tarnish the sport of boxing. On Tuesday, Amir Khan fired back at Roger saying that he never failed a drug test either.
Khan and Pacquiao are good friends and Amir has constantly come to the defense of Manny in the media. Amir trains with Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym just as Manny Pacquiao. However, accusations of Khan taking steroids seems to be more of Roger just thinking that Amir is guilty by association.
Khan has a huge fight this Saturday against Zab Judah in a title unification bout. Khan currently holds the WBA light welterweight title and Judah currently holds the IBF junior welterweight belt. Khan is expected to be a serious contender to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the Spring of 2012 if Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. can't agree on a fight. If Judah wins on Saturday, then he jumps up near the front of the line for a fight against Pacquiao in early 2012 if there's no Floyd Jr. fight.
Manny Pacquiao fights Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday November 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A worldwide promotional tour for this fight is set to kick off next month.
Uncle Roger says he talks to the people in Manny's camp all the time. What a joke of a liar! JAT
