Originally posted by kallsopThese ratings are killing the sport. PBF is rated #1 and his last 5 opponents are Sosa, N'dou, Corley, Bruseles and Gatti, and maybe really stepping up big time to fight AARP candidate Mitchell next? He's done nothing for 2 1/2 years and needs to slip down the list.
Winky Wright has two wins over Mosley and a great win over Trinidad, and those wins are way more impressive than what the #1 has done. All the guys on the rest of the list down to #9 have fought nothing but the best opposition for many years and deserve a place there. Tayler basically has one top fight on his resume, won it but not very impressively, and shouldn't be on the list. Hopkins lost to the rookie challenger and hasn't been at the top of his game for many years, but at least he has fought the best in the division and earned a place.
My problem with these lists is that they reward talent and not accomplishment. Put PBF down to #5 and tell him to fight someone with a pulse if he wants a higher ranking. Boxers and the public need to ignore these bogus heresay lists and demand proof.
I want to see the best fight the best to earn their list ranking.
you seem to be forgetting corrales and castillo, and the extremly talented augustus (before he was constantly messing around in his fights, when he was a true contender)Comment

Byrd maybe the worst champ in the last 20 years , he should not be in the top ten !
And Wlad had the guts to go in there with Peter ,and he gets #8 spot ! he should be in the top 5 , not that meatball TONEY that fault nobody !Comment
