    A super cruiserweight division..

Now whilst there is NO doubt that David Haye was taken to school and back against WK earlier this month, I do think boxing needs to look at the top end of weight divisions. Having fighters in a weight category with around 40lbs difference between fighters is ludicrous, and should be dealt with. As Vitali himself said post-fight “David Haye is not a HW”

Therefore I think 200-220lb should be a super cruiserweight division.

Not only would this lessen the gap in weights at the top end, but would also add extra zest to the top tier of boxing and give the cruiserweight division more prominence and recognition, something is currently lacks, badly.

Some might point out the fact that boxing is already saturated with weight categories, and this would only further add to the spider web of confusion that surrounds the sport.....but.....this is dealing with weights that NEED to be categorised! If you want to take to task too many weights then eliminate straw/minimum, drop a super from feather or bantamweight perhaps. The fact is that the leap currently from cruiser to HW is too large and must be addressed accordingly.

200-220lbs - the Super Cruiserweight Division.

I agree there should be a division, but the cruiser weight division goes from 175- 200, I think thats a big weight gap. I think it should be something like 190-210 or 195-210.

The last thing we need is another weight division so these sanctioning bodies can create more belts and charge more fees. That would be adding to the problem.

My opinion is that the previous cruiserweight limit of 190 pounds should be reinstated , and a supercruiserweight division limit should be at 208 pounds , and then a heavyweight limit should be at 227 pounds , so I kind of agree with your stance .
But the most important change should be that weigh-ins should be held immediately prior to the entrance to the ring , which will stop the dehydration and draining absurd.

I think you either need to add a super cruiserweight division, or put some kind of cap on the heavyweight division like UFC and college wrestling has.

the reason people like haye go up to heavyweight is because that's where the money comes easiest and who wants to be cruiserweight/super cruiserweight world champion when you could be
              "heavyweight champion of the world"?!
just the way it is unfortunately. i say unfortunately given that heavyweights are usually not the most most skilful boxers nor particularly good athletes yet they get the recognition in pro boxing.

Another division is NOT a good idea.

Many heavyweights could easily go down to cruiserweight. Adamek is not a natural HW and had no problem making 200. Chambers, Minto, Chagaev: if they were in their best shape would be cruiserweights.

Problem is, there's little money to be made at cruiserweight.

HBO should have been willing to show Adamek-Cunningham II. That would have raised the profile of the CW division.

They need a "naseem hamed" of the cruiser division to get some attention to it, if the division had a higher profile then loads of HW motherthuckers would move down to CW.
