He won't trade, but standing his ground in the middle of the ring is what he will be doing. Being aggressive doesn't necessarily mean trading.

No I don't think he has the right tools. He doesn't have a good jab, which I think would help him get close and inside against Floyd and he doesn't have any head movement.

Going back to who was the most successful at getting on the inside on Floyd, it was Castillo. If you re-watch the first fight he used A LOT of head movement when he would work his way inside (dipped his head down low and bobbed side to side), something ortiz doesn't do. In addition he worked the body very well and he had a fantastic chin at that time. Ortiz doesn't really have any those things.

In the Berto fight, Ortiz lunges in with shots from the outside, that's basically how he gets his shots off and to get inside. that, IMO, spells absolute disaster against a technician like floyd. You can't lunge in against Floyd or you'll get Ricky Hatton'd. You need to either work your way in with a STRONG jab (not a lazy, half-assed jab like mosley used) or do what castillo did and bob and weave that head around unpredictably. Ortiz does neither.

One point against Floyd, which could be a major one, is by the time of the fight he will have not fought in 16 months. That's a long layoff. Floyd is also 34 years old now he's not a young guy anymore. So if he comes in rusty at all, he may have a few shaky moments early (kinda like round 2 against Mosley) and you just never know with a guy like Ortiz who has power in both hands that could be disastrous. But Floyd is a pro and I expect any ring rust to be gone after the first couple rounds.

Being aggressive does mean throwing punches though and I dont see Mayweather doing much of that.

Wow, good overview. I can't find fault with what you said here.

Floyd doesn't want to talk that trash to Ortiz but that's okay.

Mayweather-Gatti 2, mark it down....from what I have seen from Ortiz, there is nothing he presents that will be trouble for Floyd. Ortiz I believe is a good tough fighter that would give many fighters fits with his style but compared to Mayweather his skill level isnt even close. He is a fighter who fights with his heart not his head, he will be overly aggressive and will show a Warrior spirit but he will be extremely outclassed. People say Mayweather has no heart but he has been in more wars than Ortiz and was never knocked down and never ever folded, backed up and most of all never was one to shy away from the pressure as you can see in his 41-0 record.

Look at Ortiz's fights vs Maidana, Campbell, Peterson & Berto...look how easy those guys were able to hit him. Also, Ortiz seems like he is going to be the 1st guy to really really talk **** and go at Mayweather. The last person to really get under Mayweathers skin was Arturo Gatti, Zab didnt talk **** because he was humbled by Baldomir loss, Oscar didnt say much, Hatton's was more of comical **** talking, JMM didnt talk ****, & Shane didnt do anything either. It seems as if Ortiz is gonna talk himself into a brutal ass whooping. We have seen him fold under pressure before but never to a fighter of Mayweathers caliber.
