The juding should have been btter...too much room or 114-113 to 117-110....too much of a spread...better selection process needed for officials...

Obviously the person getting overpaid isn't going to complain, but at the end of the day overpaying guys who don't deserve it is bad for the sport because it drives up costs for other fights, takes away money from HBO's budget and can screw over other, more deserving fighters.

When you pay Andre Berto $1.0 million to fight a bum on an undercard, naturally he's going to ask for a whole lot more in his next next fight.

When you promise Timothy Bradley $1.3 million in his next fight, a $1.4 million offer from Amir Khan doesn't sound as attractive as it once would have.

When you pay Devon Alexander $1.3 million in his fight AFTER A LOSS, that's $1.3 million dollars that could have went to two guys who people actually want to watch.

If HBO had an infinite mount of money to spend on boxing each year, then yeah, overpaying guys would be awesome. Unfortunately they have a budget, which is why it's so important to try to make the best fights possible, instead of throwing big time money at guys that you THINK could be big attractions some day.

natas206 - I couldnt have said it any better. Bravo.
You'd think the suits at HBO would realize that there is no need to pay fighters like Berto or Bradley 1-1.5 mil, when Showtime wouldn't offer them more than 600-700K. They really do bid against themselves, espcially for certain fighters. Al Haymon must have pics of HBO CEO havin an affair

A rodriguez-wolak rematch would be better if the same referee was back for the second fight but probably unlikely.

yeah, steve smoger is one of my faves. he gets out of the way and lets the fighters war it out. this was a great fight. though i had delvin winning by 1 pt, i have no complaints with a rematch. with of course steve smoger again as the ref!

I hear what you are saying, but, I can accept that two judges see it differently, or weigh attributes differently.

At the end of the day, they got it right, and that is more important than the individual scores.

I understand why they suspended the judges and didn't reverse or null the decision ???
Going on the assumption that the only dumb qestion is the one not asked " waht's the difference between a re=match and a rubber match "????????

Re-match would be a 2nd fight. Rubber match would be a third fight in a series that is tied 1-1.
