Vitali is definitely the more emotional of the two, that's for sure. But I can't blame him for his post-fight reaction. The guy spent around two months training for what looked like tough fight, only for it to end so early and under less than convincing circumstances.Last edited by prinzemanspopa; 07-18-2011, 01:47 PM.Comment

Can we stop lumping the Klitschko's together and combining their accomplishments, please?
Here's the difference...Wlad has no connection whatsoever to the lineage of the Heavyweight championship - he didn't beat anybody who beat the guy who beat the guy. It's part of where the disdain from former fighters come from, imo.
Although it literally means nothing as far has Wlad's chances against Foreman or Lennox in a mythical fight - there is just nothing in Wlad's career that has left a memory in the collective minds of boxing fans.
Vitali has that connection because of the competitive fight with Lennox - if he had been blown away in that fight and Lennox reitred BOTH Klit's would be taken even less seriously - especially since most people lump them together anyway when convenient.
Of course Foreman and Lewis are probably a bit bitter that they can't fight anymore - you hear this from a lot of older athletes and their opinions of the subsequent generations, it's nothing new.Comment

You're aware that lineage to the world Heavyweight title ended when Gene Tunney retired, right? Using your ridiculous logic,we can't recognize any other champion since for the sole reason being that they "didn't beat anybody who beat the guy who beat the guy".Comment

Excellent post!Guaranteed. You know why?
1. They are classy, unlike scumbags George Foreman and the Cheating Coward Lennox Lewis. They understand that trash talk really serves only a little purpose in building up fights, but outside of that theres no point. They back it up. When they retire they wont act like *****y ******ed fanbois saying, "in my day id beat them" STFU, get in the ring you fat bastards or shut your mouths.
2. They will be satisfied with their careers and be able to look in the mirror and know what they accomplished. Unlike Foreman whose career highlights are beating a past prime Frazier, a bolo punch and being the dope in the phrase "rope a dope" and Lennox Lewis who dodged the best prime fighters of his age, cheated (illegal hold and hit causing a cut) against Vitali and then retired in what many call the "*****iest move in sports history" he is known as the Perez Hilton of boxing in many circles.
3. They will have better things to do. Unlike Lewis and Foreman who really have no discernible skills outside of boxing, the K bros have a lot to fall back on. They both will spend their days either in politics or ****ing hollywood actresses, maybe appearing in music videos or hugo bossing the **** out of it at a casino or something. They wont be getting fired from color commentating jobs.
4. They back up their words. They hated Haye because they felt he was all talk, if Vitali or Wlad were 50+ and they thought boxing ****** theyd probably come back to it before they talked trash. They are gentlemen, scholars and true champions not cowards, scoundrels and semi-literate punch drunk has beens.Comment
