American heavyweights Derric Rossy and veteran Maurice Harris fought for the vacant USBA heavyweight title tonight.

USBA heavyweight titleholder Maurice Harris (25-15-2, 10 KOs) retained his title with a twelfth round TKO of Derric Rossy (25-5, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the Resorts Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Harris scored a flash knockdown in the fourth round and dropped Rossy again in the twelfth. Rossy beat the count but took a five punch combination and seemed out on his feet prompting a stoppage by referee Earl Morton at 1:35.

Certainly it's difficult to imagine Maurice Harris going 12 rounds let alone scoring a stoppage in the final round based on how he has looked in recent times. Good effort by him.
