Not one to make any wild guesses, after all I never got hit by the punch. I can say that there have been numerous cases of losing fighters acting "out cold" to make it look good. It happens more in the sport than most can imagine. If you ever happen to meet a professional "loser", they'll tell you. There's no pattern to a legit KO though. Sometimes it looks very odd when the lights go out, although it's relatively rare in boxing to see fighters go completely out cold as in this case. Monster hitters like Julian Jackson who frequently knocked people stiff do not come around often. Probably Marquez himself has only had maybe a handful of occasions like this, where the opponent went limp.

But this guy was definitely begging to get hit by a right hand, either by purpose or unintentionally (likely the latter). Either way he was just a very poor choice of opponent for Marquez. It's not like this KO is going to prove anything with Marquez already scheduled to fight Pacquiao.

Not here to go back and forth... its no big deal. Just stating why there are many saying it was a dive. Some think it was, some dont.

the way he was lying down at the end was fake..when he got hit he staggered first..when someone gets knocked out to the point where he isnt moving on the floor he'd fall down like a tree..was very fake..bob arum needed to fix this fight.

I don't know why people are hating on this KO. It puts Williams-Martinez II to shame. Ramos went to sleep immediately.

They don't call him Juan Manuel Dinamita Marquez for no reason, he got dynamite in those hands, and Pacquiao's face will be bombarded with them all night in November 12!

I think the knockout looks legit, but let's not carried away here by saying that it's more impressive than Martínez KOing Williams. One THUDDING SHOT, Williams slams FACE FIRST into the ground, arms down, his neck twisted, eyes wide open...

Probably the ref. Haven't you seen refs take boxers mouth pieces out when they're laid out? They usually do it so the boxer can breathe. As you can see in the video above, the ref instructs Marquez to a neutral corner and starts making his way over to the guy on the floor and in the shot of the guy laying on the floor you can see a guy with black slacks right over him.
