    Two more names are being mentioned as possible candidates to fight WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez (43-0-1, 30KOs) on September 24 in Mexico City. Ronald Hearns (26-2, 20KOs), the son of boxing legend Thomas Hearns, has been mentioned, as well as Japanese boxer Nobuhiro Ishida (23-6-2, 8KOs). Hearns was last seen in February, getting stopped in seven rounds by WBA champion Felix Sturm. Ishida was last seen in April, stopping unbeaten James Kirkland in one round. The name of Peter Manfredo Jr. is still being mentioned, but for Chavez's next scheduled fight on November 19.

          Sounds like they are scheduling a homecoming game...Chavez sgould just fight his punching bag in the arena and charge admission.

              JR needs a fight, not sparring....if Sturm stpd H JR will KO him....he needs COMPETITION!!!!

                  Its pretty clear that chavez is a good as hes ever going to get which is not very good, he maybe able to beat a cotto or these other bums mentioned but thats about all we can expect from chavez jr, hes boxing royalty by default, because of his dad nothing more, canelo would surely stomp him too.no use in crying about it, it is what it is, bums fight bums its the so called pnd for pnd champions like manny that need to stop fighting no-hopers and bums , guy only fights dudes coming off of devastating losses what the hell is that ??? when did that become acceptable??? not even delahoya did that in fact delahoya did the exact opposite and went out fighting top guys even when he was long past his prime!

                              So HBO tossed aside the idea of PW fighting Ishida, but Jr fighting him is fine? Just like when they rejected Martinez-Zbik but picked up Jr-Zbik. This is a joke.

                                  Ishida would actually be interesting. Hearns would be an easy KO for Jr.
