Okay, maybe Orlando didn't "train properly" for his fight with Gamboa. Maybe he wouldn't have so many losses if he didn't turn pro at such a young age. Maybe Salido didn't actually use steroids when he tested positive for them in the Robert Guerrero fight. Maybe, Maybe, maybe....

Yuriorkis Gamboa has a growing fan-base that extends well beyond the Cuban community. That's because he does nothing but win and look electrifying in the process. Yuri is a monster at 126, and the man to beat in that division. If you think that Salido is anywhere near that, you're in a tiny minority. As solid a fighter as Orlando is, he's an overachiever.

Salido knock out Gamboa? Unlikely. Orlando retire JuanMa? Even less so....

Gamboa overrated? No chance. He's a beast. If Yuri loses to Ponce De Leon, I'll not only be disappointed in him, but in my own judgement. As far as a Gamboa-Lopez fight goes, I used to think it was a toss-up. After the Salido loss, I understandably started to lean towards Yuri.

I have always considered Lara third among the Cuban defectors. Rigondeaux being #1 and Gamboa #2. But on July 9, Erislandy showed me and many others that he's for real. He's a threat to anyone at 154.
