Correct. But Toney's name had a lot more stock back then and they wanted more like 3 million + to make the fight. In retrospect, it was a horrible decision of course.

Despite his lack of dedication to training, James Toney is one of the most gifted natural boxers of his generation. I'd imagine his style giving Vitali some trouble for sure, but I can't see Toney beating Vitali.

Toney is a sad case: he just got kicked out of his gym he trains at for threatening other customers. He owes the IRS a mint and goes around with an alias now, "James N.
