Former cruiserweight champ Carlos "Sugar" De Leon Today

Here are some pics that I took a few weeks ago of former four-time cruiserweight champion Carlos "Sugar" De Leon recently. De Leon had a record of 53-8-1 (33 KO) while beating guys like Leon Spinks, Marvin Carmel and Yaqui Lopez, but losing to Evander Holyfield.

He's working as a trainer in the gym I work out in and has been helping me get in shape and doing pads with me. He's an awesome guy, very knowledgeable of the sport.

He's awesome, just an old school guy with boxing knowledge like you won't believe. He does things like they used to do them.

Sounds like he could help a lot of young fighters who seem to be lacking in the quality training or even just basic knowledge of the sport department (like keep your hands up and in position to do something)

Yeah, it's the basics that many in the sport are lacking now. Just talking with Sugar De Leon about the old school happenings in the sport are a wealth. This man has seen some incredible things in boxing.
