    Ex-Soviet and world boxing communities sustained a huge blow to their very hearts. Vladimir Rodionovich Klitschko, the proud father of the two best heavyweights in the recent memory, sadly passed away at the age of 65 after a long and unsuccessful battle with illness.

        Umm bit of a ****** question but it's honest curiosity, I couldn't help but notice his name was Vladimir, is it pronounced the same as Wladimir? If so, what would be the point of assigning different letters the same sound?

                In certain Eastern Euro regions his name is spelled with the "V". I think it went to a "W" because of his run in Germany, where it might be traditionally spelled with a W
