Vitali had some of the worst cuts i have ever seen in boxing. He had 2 separate cuts above his eye and one bellow, he was p*ssing blood all over the place. Seriously he looked like he could have died in there if he continued.
How can people say this fight was a schooling from Vitali?
This subject is really done to death I’ll sum it up
Vitali Klitschko crowning achievement and what he will be remembered for in boxing long after he retires is giving Lennox Lewis a tough fight but losing via TKO.
Lewis is widely regarded as a top 10/5 heavyweight of all time and rightly so.
Today’s Heavyweight division is widely regarded as the worst in boxing history.
Lewis will be remembered for being great, Vitali will be remembered for giving a great but ageing fighter a tough fight but falling short.
A fight is stopped if one of the fighters is becoming in danger.
Be it from being knocked down, knocked out, or seriously damaged and becoming more damaged.
Vitali was seriously damaged, and Lennox was damaging him more and more.
So the fight was rightly stopped.
Vitali failed in his task because he was not himself, safe. He was put in danger by Lennox's fists which he was supposed to be avoiding. So he failed. He might have wanted to carry on because he's a warrior and has a ridiculous chin. Hence that kind of outcome.
Anyone wanting that fight to continue is brutal and not thinking of the sport in the right way.
We've all seen what happens when fighters with less damage and cuts are allowed to continue taking shots, Margarito being one recent one (not that that fight was close mind).
