Prime Marcos Maidana vs. Prime Ricky Hatton at 140 Discuss

I got Maidana winning by late stoppage.

Are you implying that Maidana is past his prime?

Hatton by UD or late stoppage . Maidana gets sloppy and tends to smother his punches up close .IMO Hatton wouldn't give him the room to get his punches off effectively and if he sneaks in his body shots could wear down and stop Maidana.

Maidana would beat his ass. It would be a war tho.

Hatton never employed the swarming, mauling type tactics against physically strong pressure fighters.Hatton would be in boxing mode, utilizing his superior foot speed, using angles and would pick his shots on his way to a decision, just like he did against two other strong pressure fighters in Ben Tackie and Juan Urango.

            Hatton by UD.

Maidana would have a punchers chance.

I picture Hatton trying to box initially, but once Maidana tagged him, it would turn into an all-out war. I think Maidana takes it based purely on his recovery powers, which have been shown to be EXCELLENT. (Just look at the Ortiz fight and the Khan fight.) Hatton has never shown much ability to overcome adversity. Once you have him in trouble, you can put him away. Heck, Luis Collazzo was VERY close to KOing him. (Even if it wasn't at 140lbs. Collazzo is far from a big puncher, that much, I think we can all agree on.)

Exactly what I thought of when I thought of this fight. I feel Hatton's Boxing skills would not be enough for him to beat Maidana.

good thing theres not a poll hatton gets way 2 much hate you could match him against a 140lb wet sack of patatoes and hed lose the poll
but lets be honest this would be a war !
and i have hatton using he way superior and underated foot speed and angles and stop maidana with a body shot
you see the way Amir dropped Maidana with one
hatton is probably the most devastating body puncher at 140 ever
just a bad match up for maidana due to his weak body
dnt get me wrong he did get up in the kahn fight but kahns body work is nothing compared to rickys
would be a great fight HATTON TKO
