Step up? More like a step down. Linares isn't even the elite of Super Featherweights. Usually, boxers who move up have considerable punching power or just too slick to be caught by anyone in their division. I don't see anything special in Linares. Not super fight material. GBP has Marcos Maidana and Alexander Matthysse those two boxers against Rios would be great. Rios vs Matthysse gets Maidana. These fights can become PPV material seriously because these fighters you know will always make it a fight. Maidana, Matthysse, and Rios have never been in a boring fight. Fans will turn out and people like me will buy. Rios vs Matthysse should be this year.

Linares isn't terrible at all. He's slick, not the slickest around but c'monthe guy has skills, I don't care how uou see it. He does. Now, can a fighter get caught? Of course, so you get knocked out and you have a terrible chin? Or was the other fighter's power just really good that particular night? This is a fight I would love to see. Skill/suspect chin vs power/will? I give brandon a 70% chance based on power/chin/endurance while hunger on Linares' part coupled with skill and the goal to box? makes for an entertaining fight. I see brandon winning but would love to see Linares take him to school with skill.

Rios would absolutely destroy Linares... I like Linares and everything... but C'mon... he has no chance.

as much as i like linares, i am not sure his chin can handle rios power.....

the ko loss that he had was pretty brutal and although that guy had some decent pop, i believe rios hits harder...... rios has been stopping better opposition too, than the guy that ko'd linares......

style wise it's intriguing just the chin factor makes rios the heavy favorite....

Ever since i seen that Linares questionable chin thread my opinion on all his fantasy fights has gone down but Linares is a great talent and now thats he is with Roach and possibly Ariza his offense will improve.Im going against the trend and saying Linares UD surviving alotta scary moments
