How do you get arrested in SA? Dude must have no money, I know some ***ish people who's fathers are big into the Diamond/Gold trade and were born/raised in South Africa. You can kill someone right infront of a cop and pay them some cash, its one of the most corrupt countries on earth, what did this dude really do? Stealing a cellphone is BS, cops wouldnt arrest him for that and even if he did he couldve payed them a few dollars to let him out.

I wonder if someone from SA knows the full story, did he beat a fighter backed by some corrupt government official?

i have a friend working as a policeman over here who moved here from SA after working there as a policeman for a few years. He works in the ****tiest places in London and says it is like heaven compared to what he was used to in SA. He told me that every single night they found two or three bodies that had been chopped up or shot in the townships. However, when they tried to investigate.... No one had seen anything, no one had heard anything, no one knew the dead persons, no one wanted to talk to the police..... etc etc etc. More often that not, they just used to roll the corpses into the ditches beside the roads and drive off: It just wasn't worth wasting their time and public money when no-one wanted to talk or help them. The place is ****ed up and a ****hole.

As a man whose wife is a Capetown "non white", or "mixed race" as they were called, I can confirm such stories. But there are other places. I now live on Panama. I have seen a guy hand back his passport to a police officer with a banknote inside it, don't know how much.

BUT...just a couple of months ago, I bought my son a new 4 wheel drive, Toyota Wagon, one of those high off the ground kind, which are needed here because of the *******ial floods are often engine deep for an ordinary car. He and his girlfriend were just Driving around the neighbourhood in the City of David where I own 2 houses in a walled complex, and where they were staying. As he described it to me. There was a police van in front of him, going very slowly, about 20 mph. He stayed behind for a while but when a double lane passing area came along he slowly passed, keeping carefully within the speed limit. He knew that the police were corrupt, and in fact is a lot sharper than I am.

They pulled him over (about 2 blocks from the house) and demanded $500 from him or they would confiscate his new car. he knew this was illegal, and also that they had been drinking, but there were 6 of them, and he was a "Gringo"............ So, just in case of holdups etc. since he'd separated out $120 in an outside pocket (keeping the much larger sum in a hidden inside pocket) he was able to bargain.

        It cost him (ME) $120.

On a similiar point, the David houses, being empty and not yet leased, were broken into about 6 months back. The thieves had to lift everything over eoither a 6 ft wall enclosure, or a 6 ft. metal gate. It could have taken them days, and certainly could not have been done without lots of noise and helpers, so the neighbours MUST have known. They stole every DOOR and WINDOW in the place, ( 17,-all specially custom made with arched tops), all the appliances including a $2500 doubledoor fridge, the stainless steel front, stove to match, and the same in the second, smaller house.

They also pulled out all the copper electric wire, etc destroying the walls and fiixtures, plus the air conditioners. Plus other things. A friend of ours who was being in the area just looked in to see things were OK and found this mess, all under about a foot of water. Oh yes, a reserve water tank was taken too. Hadn't got around to getting insurance yet, although my lawyers told me that the Insurance Companies are as big crooks as the crooks themselves.

The whole job cost about $50,000, plus my son's time of nearly 2 months in a hotel to keep an eye on things. Now, of course every door is steel plated, and every window is steel shuttered, and broken glass AND razor wire are on the wall. But you know, the stable door and the horse gone...........

The police found NOTHING, our lawyers said they wouldn't, and could possibly have known about the whole thing as it was happening. How could such a major furniture and destruction operation have taken place with nobody knowing.......??

          So....what were we talking about....Oh Yes,...CORRUPTION.............
