title defences :allan green , a guy who never won a title . on top of that he lost to Edison Miranda in 2007 , and was KTFO'd by grandpa glenn johnson after that
saiko bika : lost to bute in 2007 , and to freaking mendy ( DQ ) before fighting ward
artur abraham : exposed against direll , and outclassed against froch . the guy is just too small , and not good at all
Also, Abraham is a good fighter. Not a world beater, but a good fighter. Don't.. say.. stupid.. things. It ruins any validity your argument had.
to summarize everything = after beating kessler , ward faced a bute leftover ( bika ) , allan green and a guy who was 1-2 in his last three fights ( abraham )
so why is he ranked that high ? why is everyone acting like ward has the best resume at 168 ?
Let's look at resumes. We'll take out common opponents for all fighters if both have beaten the fighter, just to prove a point.
WARD:
Kessler.
Green.
Froch:
Taylor.
Johnson.
Dirrell.
Pascal.
Bute:
Andrade (questionable in one of those encounters, as well.)
If anything, Bute certainly isn't the top guy. Froch, by resume would be the best. However, Ward is likely the favorite in that bout and I'd pick him over Froch. Bute, could theoretically be the most skilled fighter of the three. The problem with ranking him any higher is that he hasn't tested his skills against the highest level of competition. For as much as you want to ride Ward for his opposition, look at Bute.
Bute's biggest wins are agaisnt Bika and Andrade and Bika isn't great and Andrade isn't either. And Andrade might have deserved a stoppage victory in their first bout.
Froch has fought a lot of quality fighters, but he's also lost to a guy Ward easily handled and might have lost to Dirrell in different territory.
Ward, on the other hand, beat a guy that Froch lost to and that would beat the best fighters Bute has faced. Matter of fact, Kessler beat Andrade from start to finish. No controversy at all. I'll give Bute credit for the rematch and all that. But, the first fight still happened.
At this point, no one should be ranked higher than Andre Ward at 168. If Froch beats him, then he's CLEARLY the best fighter in the division.

Andre Ward is clearly the class of the division. If he can just put a little more power behind his shots he would be a super star in my opinion(not that he isn't already, just that would make him a household name). Ward has beat everyone put in front of him and pretty much shut them out so that would be why he is ranked so high. He hits and doesn't get hit.
The Froch fight will be interesting but unless Froch can catch him, which no one seems to be able to do at the moment, he will lose a decision.
