While I was watching the fight, I found that it was hypocritical of Jones to call Williams' shot and to hang up his gloves if he's taken this much punishment when in fact Jones has lost 3 times in a row (two by knockout, the last one being particularly ugly) and he hasn't officially said, "I'm retiring."

On an added note, Cotto isn't a bum. He lost a fight in which he was highly competitive in but weared down the stretch and the fight is surrounded by controversy (but let's give Margarito the benefit of the doubt for argument's sake). His other loss came at the hands of Pacquiao who, besides Mayweather, is the very best fighter out there.

    Quintana...meh.

López...he got knocked out by Orlando Salido (NOT a "12-loss bum"). From the moment the fight was signed, I was never sold on Juanma going through Salido like many here were. I knew it was going to be a tough fight for Juanma and it was. Salido is a solid fighter. He'll never be up there with the elite, but he is good enough to offer SOLID resistance to any fighter out there in his weight class. López is very overrated, though. He's fallen in love with his power.

Cintrón...a Puerto Rican Zab Judah. Very inconsistent. I mean, his first two losses came at the hands of Margarito (but again, let's give Margarito the benefit of the doubt for argument's sake), he has a draw against Martínez (which should've been a KO loss or decision loss), he has a win over Alfredo Angulo (I still can't believe that ****), he has a loss to Paul Williams (which should've been a no contest), and now he lost to Molina. WTF?! Up and down and up and down...

I don't have to defend Calderón, he had a good run while it lasted but it's definitely time to hang them up. I look forward to Segura's career.

    But, my man...dissing Cotto...
Your post perfectly sums up why people are mad. Jones said nothing but if Paul doesn't attempt to sharpen up his defense, he's done fighting at the top level.

And guess what? He's 100% right. He would have been in a coma had he been fighting Martinez.

Martinez ruined Paul. I promise guys.

He just wasn't the same guy he was prior to the KO.

Sorry to say. I like Paul and once thought he might have beaten Floyd or Manny.

    Now? Not so much.

dan is right about jones, he's an atg who shouldn't be taking punishment like he's doing anymore, he needs to take his own advice. not sure about the second wind crap of williams, he just didn't do anything to stop lara's punches. dan obviously wouldn't say something bad about his fighter though, so an excuse like that was expected from him....give lara the rematch

If they have such a problem with Jones, Maybe the human pipe cleaner (Williams) should move to a natural weight and fight him.

That's the dumbest thing I've read, RJJ was giving advice that he himself doesn't follow. It's that simple.

Yeah that's funny to hear Roy Jones talk about Pwill calling it a day the HBO guys are looking at Roy Jones like what the hell are you yapping about Jones. your getting knocked out left and right and can't even talk right like Miguel Cotto he shifts his eyes when he talks and really has to think about what he's talking about he takes to long to make his point across and the guy doesn't even fight on the network that he works for what does that tell you. Have some common sense man.

NJ Box commish should call the 3 judges in , replay and rescore the fight, and question them on why they scored it as such...bad decision by all 3....commissions need to act when scores are so off to an obvious winner...what's troubling here is all 3 were way off...lets go NJ...do something

No, that has nothing to do with it. Judges are given bribes by the promoters. Boxing is corrupt. People really need to get that fact straight. It is a fact. Williams' promoter paid off the judges. That much was obvious. It had nothing to do with commissions and bad judging. It was about making sure Williams won at all costs. Sad. Where money is involved, and dodgy, crooked, dirty people are involved (as they are in droves in boxing-like Goosen) this will happen.

I feel for Lara so bad though. He said it perfectly. He left his whole family in Cuba to defect and is now a criminal there to come over here to get the big fights, big money etc etc and yet he is being royally screwed by a corrupt system.
