Of course he'll say that Williams won, what else was he going to say? "Williams was terrible and lost most of the rounds, but hey, this is boxing right?"?

I agree with Goosen on a few of the points he brings up and the fight is definitely much closer than HBO and a lot of people on here have it. Some people just jump on the bandwagon and arent looking at whats happening.
And counterpunchers usually dont beat high-volume fighters so its really not that big of a surprise either way. People should not be shocked.Comment

i watched the fight live the first night with full volume and all.. i scored it 8-4 Lara. yesterday i watched the replay on hbo on mute because there was too much noise at home and i scored it 9-3 Lara... I realized I gave an additional round to Williams the first time because he looked so lost inside the ring that i wanted to give him a gift feeling all mercifulLast edited by 537Bwouaye; 07-11-2011, 03:20 PM.Comment

I agree with his comments about the commentators. Lately, HBO commentators sound more like boxing critics than commentators. This is why Showtime seems to be putting on the better shows lately. Their commentators simply call the fight, they don't do boxing past/present/futre critical analysis 101 class for the fans watching, they just call the fight. Lets the fans be the critics.Comment

Actually I thought that was one of the most ******ed things I've ever heard, as if every single person in the press was communicating with eachother and that's the only reason they scored it for lara.
I'll give it to Goosen though, he tried really hard for that to make sense lol and did a pretty job. You almost believe him on it!
One thing he was right about is that I definitely thought it was disrespectful when they were asking his trainer about p-will retiring and it was only the 7th round. That wasn't right at all.Comment

Yeah, commentators could affect some people, but that's not the case for everyone, and I don't think that commentators are to blame for this terrible decision. Where I live I don't get to see the fight on HBO, but I see it on another channel who buys the fight from HBO and doesn't even broadcast the fight in english, I get it on a spanish based channel, and still I had the fight 117-111 in favour of Lara.Comment

HBO commentators have been making me sick lately. I much prefer the Showtime crew. Call the damn fight and don't tell us how we should think the fight is going. We all have eyes and we can see how it looks. Now as for Goosen I didn't expect him to think PW lost, but he did and it had nothing to do with anything other than Lara just being the better, smarter, more skilled fighter. This was just the bad matchup in the back of my mind I feared it would be. They should have just picked Lattimore, who would have been a creditable comeback fight but a much better style matchup for PW.I agree with his comments about the commentators. you motherfckers are never happy.. for once the commentators say it how it is without censorship and some people here still dare complain...
fyi, all of the commentators preferred williams to lara before the fight. they just said out loud what we all were thinking inside.. some people here are so dumb thinking the commentators have a lot of influence and all.. think about it, when they say something people dont agree with, they get crucified here on those boards. when they say something we agree with: "mmmm maybe they influenced us". unless the influenced victims are 10-years-old or dumb individuals that can't think by themselves, i dont know wtf they talking about..
williams fiercest fans gave the damned fight to lara by wide margin, stop with that commentator and close fight bsLast edited by 537Bwouaye; 07-11-2011, 03:36 PM.Comment

shut up? haha. You would not find any judge (besides Lederman maybe) scoring it 10-2. Williams activity is way too high.shut up.
