I don't want to hear about pr mex wars, I want to get insight on what changes Steward might want to implement in order to achieve the victory. Does anybody believe that Cotto can knockdown and possibly KO Marg, considering Marg's current state(facial damage, SSM+Pac losses) or are Cotto's chances few and far between?

Right now I don't think Cotto can KO Margarito, he still has a great chin and from what I've seen from some interviews with Margarito his eye is OK. For me Cotto should try to outbox Margarito, and I think that the most important factor in this fight is going to be the aerobic capacity. Cotto should train to be in great shape to move around all night long and throwing fast in and out combinations, if he stays still Margarito will wear him down again just like in the first fight. Another important factor is to never stay close to the ropes, just look what happened to Pac at some moments in which he was hurt by Margarito's hooks to the liver. Cotto should try to take control of the center of the ring, and if he can't then he should move around but not that close to the ropes because he'll be caught again by Margarito's avalanche of punches. IMO the size of the ring could play a big factor in this fight.

IMO...box him and use the ring wisely. Set up his jabs and combos along with his footwork. Make Marg think twice on what COTTO gonna throw. Use that jab and target his lower right eye for his advantage and that will kind of if not disrupt Marg thought process. I still root for both guys cause I like them both. No ****...

During the first fight Cotto was killed on the ropes. Thinking back...does anybody know the size of the ring that was used during the first fight?

Cotto has to do what he did in the first 6-7 rounds of the first fight, except move even more.

He can't really do what most want him to do and that's go to the body and wear down Marg because that would mean standing in front of Marg the whole night and that's where he doesn't want to be.

He needs to move, box and when cornered, hold. He has to be in the best shape of his life and be able to do this for 12 rounds because Marg is coming non stop.

Use his jab, set up that left hook he landed so well in the first fight and move, move, move.

They had the game plan right the first time, he was just wore down.

i agree with most of this. I think Cotto can stand there for a little just to dig in some shots but he cant just go to war. Margarito is still the bigger man.
Body work needs to be key because he got head happy once he realized Margs wouldnt protect his face but he cant get into that state of mind again this fight
