He trained for a week (his fault) for Molina, his trainer was in Ireland with Rigondeaux and no Molina didn't win that fight a draw was fair, what Molina did was out hustle an out of shape Lara (again his fault) and even thought he landed the best punches of the fight, Lara would take Molina to school when the fight again.

threw half the punches and still landed more than PW, and also landed what were by far the harder punches of the fight
every press scorer had it 116-112 or more in favor of laraComment

While I also saw molina win the fight, it has nothing to do with getting robbed like Lara did on saturday. Molina/Lara was a close fight that was ruled a draw. Wlliams/lara was not even close and while I can live with a draw in molina/lara, the williams/lara was a clear robbery. The most ypu can give williams in that fight was four rounds and thats being kind.Comment

Lara's been talking alot since the win, and i do mean win because he did win. But he makes it seem like he just broke down Pwill and pulled a maidiana vs ortiz on him. He faught a great gameplan and all but Pwill was right there in his face punching too. It was closer than it looked to me but he still won. I hope Paul gives him a rematch and pulls a Pwill vs Quintana 2 on him. This time he won't have a long layoff and he'll know more about Lara. I respect Paul as a fighter to the end, i don't know to many fighters who take a knockout like that and is still trying to get a 3rd fight. I don't know to may fighters like that these days...
He's truly a warrior who gives no excuses win or lose. He gave Lara his props behind closed doors like a man and hasn't been saying he knew he won the fight all on the blogs and videos.Comment

If Lara's comments at the end of the report are actually what he said, and not journalistic crap, it was very small minded of Lara to speak so. Williams was kind enough to say that he Lara had won and he'd give him a rematch, therefore his comments should have included PRAISE for Williams' sportsmanship, and not the usual illiterate fighter crud and boasting.Erislandy Lara (15-1, 10KOs) reached out to BoxingScene.com to discuss last Saturday's twelve round majority loss to Paul "The Punisher" Williams (40-2, 27KOs) at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Although most ringside observers, and HBO, had Lara well ahead on points - the three ringside judges scored the fight in favor of Williams, with scores of 115-114, 116-114 and 114-114.

How often will a fighter say that his opponent won the fight that HE had been awarded???Almost Never. Joe Louis was about the last one I recall, in his Walcott fight, and although he said nothing, he showed his belief in his loss by leaving the ring before the decision.
Of course by that time, Louis was displaying serious mental problems and he ring departure may have had other causes.Comment

Sadly, I believe those quotes to be accurate, or reasonably accurate, since they were probably made through an interpreter. If Lara's comments at the end of the report are actually what he said, and not journalistic crap, it was very small minded of Lara to speak so. Williams was kind enough to say that he Lara had won and he'd give him a rematch, therefore his comments should have included PRAISE for Williams' sportsmanship, and not the usual illiterate fighter crud and boasting.
You're right, if Williams made those comments to him, Lara should be a little more gracious towards Paul. But Erislandy is justified in his anger. He's simply not directing it at the right sources. Overemotional comments....Comment

pwill already has no business being in the ring with maravilla. sergio beat his asss twice including a ko that put pwill to sleep and lara just whooped his asss clearly. pwill needs to retired before he gets killed, i fear for his safety at this point.Comment
