Are Filipino fighters in a slump?

Sure there's Pac but he' nearing the end of his career. Then there's Nonito Donaire and he's on Arum's bad list! What is else is there for the Filipino fans? Is there only two ELITE Filipino fighters in the world?

They've had great fighters in the past, and with Manny Pacquiao, they'll stand the test of time. I'm sure the influence Manny has had on his country, we'll see more Filipino talents for generations to come.

Mercito Gesta but he is not tested yet based from his previous outing I think the kid got skills.

You can also check out Milan Melindo, Dodie Boy Penalosa, Jason Pagara, Lorenzo Villanueva, Denver Cuello, Donnie Nietes, Froilan Saludar.

They still have lots of prospects though most of them are still untested. You can also include Villoria.

Donaire better stay far away from Abner Mares.

                  And why is that?

I love Mares, but Donaire no doubt will give him a good fight.

So far, all the guys dubbed as the next Manny Pacquiao have failed to meet expectations. Bautista, Banal, and Concepcion are just examples.

Donaire is the next best thing but I don't think he'll get the same widespread support from Filipinos as Pacquaio. He's too Americanized along with his wife. The Bob Arum contract should not affect him because other promotions have the best fighters in his weight class. For example, Golden Boy has Mares and Don King has Agbeko. Arum cannot keep any fight with Donaire "in house", so he doesn't really matter.
