Dearest Judges Al Bennett, Hilton Whitaker, and Donald Givens:

    Screw you too.

    Sincerely,

Everyone who got kicked in the stomach by the terrible judging you provided Saturday.

Lara-Dzinziruk...make it happen on HBO! Would be a very good fight and would be a toss up. Dzinziruk would give anyone at 154 problems. Since Lara doesn't have the power Martinez does, i think this fight will be too close to call.

Glad Martinez won't give Williams the rubber match.

lol @ the title. Lara deserves a rematch or a top Junior Middleweight opponent. I'd like to see Golden Boy put Alvarez in with someone who's good like Lara.

Alvarez is exactly who he would never get right now. Dzin is the best bet for opportunity now and a tough fight for both.

I'd be willing to bet that a rubber match will happen sooner or later. Probably sooner, since Williams has said that he wants Martinez or retirement. Unfortunately Sergio hasn't had the best of luck with enticing big names or high profile fights, and unless he's willing to move up and fight the bigger guys (which it sounds like he doesn't want to) then the Martinez/Williams rubber match may end up being one of his best $$$ options. Interesting rubber matches are harder to come by these days and usually have a high amount of interest in them. Although Martinez took Williams out in spectacular form in the rematch, Paul still has a win over him. And since I doubt there will be too much interest from many to see Williams in with anyone else and because of their history, I think it's still one people will want to see and Martinez will eventually conceede if he doesn't get any better offers.

Harold Letterman brought up a VERY good point after the Lara/Williams fight about the NJAC bringing in inexperienced judges for high profile fights, when there are plenty of respectable and experienced judges available for them to bring in. One judge had ZERO title fight experience, was that seriously the best they could find for a high profile fight? 3 of Williams last 4 fights have been in Atlantic City.... The first one was Martinez/Williams 1st fight, in which Benoit had that atrocious score for Williams. The second fight with Martinez/Williams, thank God for the early K.O. by Sergio. In hindsight, with Williams history of "helpful judges scoring" in AC, it's a damn good thing Sergio got the knock out over Paul in the second fight. Who knows what kind of disgraceful judges scores would/could have robbed Sergio in that fight if it weren't for the K.O. And then of course there is the most recent fight with Lara on Saturday night, which was obvious to most everyone with two good eyes.

If this is the best the NJAC can do then fighters should be boycotting having their fights in their jurisdiction for big fights. That would be a shame though because Atlantic City has an incredibly great fight aura and loyal fans to the boxing game. And it hasn't always been this way, there've been a lot of GREAT fights coming out of the AC... maybe it's a new pattern or possible even worse - slated towards a particular fighter named Paul Williams?? Either way, if Martinez does end up agreeing to a rubber match with Paul Williams - I would suggest that Sergio Martinez fights him FAR, FAR away from Atlantic City.

Side note: I get that there is bad judging going on everywhere, but the LEAST the NJAC could do is bring in a better, more qualified group of judges for fights of that magnitude, no?

Since he already has the unmerited Barker next, instead of Williams, how about Martinez fight a deserving contender instead?

If it's the most profitable option, don't count on that. LOL
