    Tarver-Jones 3: 405,000 PPV buys

2nd most successfull PPV this year....

HBO Sports reported today that 405,000 pay-per-view buys were generated from last Saturday’s light heavyweight showdown between Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr. – the third fight of their longtime in-state rivalry - at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. The fight was presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Square Ring, Inc. The 405,000 buys included 255,000 buys from cable homes and 150,000 from satellite homes and represent an increase from the 382,000 buys registered for Jones-Tarver II, which took place in May 2004 in Las Vegas. Their first fight in November 2003, also in Las Vegas, generated 304,000 buys. The impressive pay-per-view performance of Tarver-Jones III ranks second among all pay-per-view boxing events in 2005. Tarver-Jones III will be replayed this Saturday night, Oct. 8 at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT & 8:45 p.m. CT on HBO. The fight will also be replayed on HBO2 Sunday, Oct. 9 at 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 11:15 p.m. All those times are ET/PT.
