Some of the **** he said didn't make sense to me. He said something like "Williams is the favorite in Atlantic City" so he should take the close/tied rounds. I'm maybe accept that close rounds should go to the champion but the favorite or hometown favorite. Judging should be objective and unbiased; this premise is clearly not..
Dwyer gave the fight to Williams...wow

He also mentioned Lara moving backwards away from Paul as reason for why he should drop close rounds.....that never made sense, why should it matter whether you are coming forward and landing clean punches or landing clean then moving away?Comment

I'm guessing he predicted Williams would win, correct?
I bet a lot of times he makes these video's he does so to argue the fact that he was right and not wrong, it could even be a sub-conscious thing. I mean this is what he does, he spends a lot of time telling people to bet on this guy, in these rounds or to go the distance. So he's just reassuring himself (and his followers) that he was right.
That's why he is biased. He is invested in these fights one way or another.Comment

Holy ****. I have seriously been losing respect for Dwyer over the last year or so, but this is nuts. He gave the fight to Williams based on the fact that (in his words) he didnt get knocked down, walked forward, and threw a lot. He also says not to be fooled by HBO's bias towards accurate fighters. Wow...someone with a youtube log in should link him to our "Who won the fight?" poll.

He has gone down hill a lot. His choices etc these days seems to be him just wanting to be different.Comment

Dwyer getting worse, I should quit watching his vids. I think I seen that video too, and I was like WTF!Comment

Calzaghe is white. I think Dwyer is showing favoritism for African fighters. Reminds me of a poster from Detroit here. Lara might be black but he isn't African I don't think. He's a black Cuban right? Would make more sense if Dwyer had Calzaghe beating Hopkins seeing how Calz/Hops landed few punches. Williams/Lara was like Calzaghe/Hopkins except Lara clearly lands alot of his punches.
it was basically the same fight stylistically just hopkins/calz was more boring. williams and calzaghe came forward throwing a ton but not landing anything clean. lara and hopkins picked their spots and played good defense by deflecting everything then resetting.
the differences were that hopkins got tired towards the end so that made it closer and calzaghe had the entire crowd screaming for him the entire fight every time he hit air. that makes a big difference in perception and obviously influenced the judges and commentators. if the crowd was screaming every time williams threw a lot of people would think it was a much closer fight.Last edited by daggum; 07-11-2011, 02:55 AM.Comment
