Comments Thread For: Williams Wants Sergio Martinez, Lara Wants Rematch

ATLANTIC CITY -- During a November's battle of southpaws at the Boardwalk Hall in this East Coast ******** city, three-time titlist Paul Williams fell face-first and was rendered completely unconcious for the first time in his career -- the shocking knockout coming as the result of a second round left hand from WBC emeritus middleweight
    champion Sergio Martinez.

Who can't love Paul Williams for this?

On that evidence, of course, he gets quickly and brutally knocked out again - anyone want to see that?

as a fan of both, i wouldn't want to see this fight. either way, i doubt it'll happen. martinez has barker lined up and chavez jr ready for next year. williams should give lara the rematch or try and face another 154er.

          He is not ****.

He won a close decision win over Martinez.(This was a close fight not a robbery, dont give me that robbery bull****)

          Wins:

          Martinez
          Margarito
          Phillips
          Wright
          Quintana
          Mitchell

Is Paul Williams the greatest boxer ever? No, he is far from it but he is a good boxer.

If Williams had fought Martinez tonight instead of Lara, I can guarantee you guys that Williams would have been knocked out again.

"I'm looking forward to moving on to bigger and better things. When you fight a guy at [Lara's] level, you are not going to rise," said Williams, dissming a return bout against Lara.
That sucks for Lara, but I'm glad a rematch isn't happening. I don't want to see it. Lara made his point and has the entire boxing community behind him. He could move on to bigger things.

shame on these judges. Williams is going to esip his meals from a straw if he continues on. Martinez will be kind enough to not take this fight.

is your reasoning for not wanting to see a rematch because pwill might take another beating? if so, i can see your point. after all, it's not williams who scored the fight. still, i think lara deserves one, he shouldn't let his first pro loss (which was a robbery) go unanswered, even though people who saw the fight know who really won.
