I thought the fact that that Lara was a GBP fighter would negate the Al Haymon factor like it did with Ortiz when he whipped Berto's overrated ass. Guess it was a different story tonight. But anybody that doesn't think that Haymon fighters get preferential treatment need to wake the hell up.

Don't think so (I don't remember seeing the Watson twins in the ring trying to get on tv during any of Devons fights haha). Haymon has Mayweather, Williams, Berto, Arreola, Danny Jacobs, & Broner just to name a few. I'm pretty sure Devon's trainer is also his manager (Kevin Cunningham).

                  lol.

al haymon is a manager, not a promoter. he has no control of who scores the fight or what kind of job they do at it.

its just a case of a well established fighter vs a un known fighter, a US fighter vs a cuban fighter and a busy guy who comes forward vs a accurate guy who picks his spots.

judges will always pick busy guys regardless if they land or not and its hard not to go with the guy whos got a name and is "supposed" to win.

also the fight was alot closer than the hbo team called it, quite alot of fans fall into the trap of scoring with their ears and not their eyes. yes lara was bouncing left hands of williams' skull, but williams was working him over on the inside and won far more rounds than those clowns on hbo called.

if u think that was a gift decison u either cant score a fight worth a damn or u dont know what a gift decision is.

a gift decision is when someone clearly loses (3-4 points atleast) and still gets the W. if u think someone lost by a point or two and still get the decision thats not a gift, its a close fight.

berto-collazo was a close fight and couldve gon either way, i can see how someone thinks collazo edged it sure but he didnt put it in teh bank so it wasnt a gift by any means.

also let me just say to all u ******s that al haymon has a loooong list of fighters who get decisions going for and against them all teh time. u can make a dozen examples of haymon fighters who won questionable decisions but you can make a dozen examples of al haymon fighters who lost questionable decisions aswell.

more importantly al haymon is a manager, he has nothing to do with employing the judges. thats the promoters job. this whole thread is pure ignorance.

Haymon is garbage, yes, he can get you an hbo date. But he's no manager or promoter or matchmaker. He has too much influence at hbo and is a major problem in the vast majority of hbo's crappy fights and budget problems.

He's made good money at the expense of boxing.
