Lara still has a ****ty tank. Still barely throws more than most heavyweights and infact, his work rate tonight was MUCH higher than usual and part of that is because his opponent was so easy to hit, barely landed anything meaningful or with power.. and was also throwing a ton of punches so made him work.

IMO lara gets too comfortable and out worked by power combinations against canelo. Good fight, but canelo wins just on 'looking' the stronger of the 2 going late.

I'd have to go with Lara by KO.

Lara would beat him like he beat PW, and then lose the decision. They never fight anyway so it doesn't really matter. Lara is the most skilled fighter at 154 right now. I always liked Lara, and after watching what he did to my favorite fighter in the sport I have an ever greater respect for his speed and skill level.

          Lara-Vanes would be interesting to.
You support a Mayorga-Alvarez fight? Mayorga looked like crap against a tentative Miquel Cotto and ultimately quit when going got tough. Alvarez is young, hungry, powerful and is increasingly becoming a better all around boxer in each successive fight. I think it's an utter mismatch and waste of time. Alvarez should be fighting guys like Martirosyan, Wolak, Bundrage, Lara who will provide him a good challenge and the fans an exciting fight. Mayorga has become a gatekeeper/opponent for guys nowadays and is not relevant..

lara drew with molina and should have lost he looked very good vs p-will but williams might have been a broken fighter after the brutal KO he suffered from sergio

Canelo. He's just much more versatile. He fights differently in every fight. He has great hand speed for the authority he has when he punches. He's got great power that demoralizes his opponents. Lara's only chance would be to try and box him, but even then I don't see that happening. Lara's power is also overrated. His power looked good against the unskilled tomato cans they threw at him on FNF, but even with how many hail-mary punches he threw and landed on Williams at will, he still didn't even make Paul back up and think twice. Plus his work-rate is too low to control the pace, which in turn would allow Canelo to get more shots off and control the action.

I only support a Mayorga fight if it happens on the Floyd-Ortiz under-card.

Alot of big names and they can't afford Vanes.

I would support a Wolak, K-9 fight over Mayorga.

Mayorga provides a measuring stick. Can Canelo be more impressive than Cotto?

Canelo's best win is against a british fighter. Williams > any British fighter that fights at 154.
