Tonight really put the word "robbery" into perspective

Sometimes we like to argue about tons of close fights and label them robbers, i.e. Marquez-Pacquiao, Floyd-Castillo, Hopkins-Calzaghe, and the number of fights that were debatable ect. ect. Those and the fights alike are not robberies, those are all close fights that could have gone either way. What we witnessed tonight my friends, is a disgusting, all around the board, unanimous highway robbery. THIS is the type of stuff that hurts boxing and fans who are trying to get into the sport will be completely tuned off. A guy totally dominates another fighter (no way you can argue Lara won less than 9 rounds) and somehow walks away the loser?

On a positive note, props Kellerman for really telling it like it is, I don't know why people hate on him he's the realest guy commentating on boxing today. And to Lara, he needs to back in the gym and use this as motivation. If he can somehow get Williams back in the ring, he needs to do like Martinez, take the B.S. loss and come back and drop Williams to leave no doubt who's the best fighter of the two (although all of us fans know Lara is).

agreed, and it will continue to happen until accountability enters Boxing's lexicon. fortunately, the names of the judges aren't hidden from the public eye. people know who these guys are, which is a step in the right direction.

I can't believe there are people on this forum saying this isn't anything to worry about, or that it isn't a big deal. GTFO with that ****, this was horrible

Sheesh, I thought they were going to stop the fight to save PW, the thought that PW would win a decision didn't even enter my mind... that was worse than robbery, it was a sin

Has anyone ever notice when theres a robbery the Black Fighter always seems to benefit from gift decsions. I've been watching fights since 1978 and i can only think of one time when a Black fighter was screwed Whitaker vs Chavez draw other than that the foregin fighter seems to have his kester screwed by these corrupt Judges that are payed off from Don King, Bob Arum, Al Haymon, and Oscar Delahoya who vowed to clean up robberies after he was robbed in that Mosley fight.

I agree, it was the last thing on my mind I didn't even care to listen to the winner being announced. I got on my computer and when I first heard the first judge scored it a draw I was shocked but still though there was no way Lara was going to lose this one. When I heard Paul Williams being named the winner I wanted to break my t.v.

Well said TS. I've always thought that word is over-used in genuinly close fights like Alexander/Matthysse where it is arguable. But this was not even close.
I seriously could not believe my ears as I heard the announcer say "from Aikin, South Carolina", really disgusting. Those judges really need to never be allowed to judge ever again.

The penalties should be worse IMO.

This type of robbery is basically like the last seconds of the Super Bowl on 4th down and the offensive team needs a touchdown to win, and the teams start the final play and the safeties just push down the wide receivers without a penalty being called.

It's a 3 point shot being called as a two.

These judges need to have their license revoked and a $10,000 fine enforced.

Close fights OK **** happens, but when its clear and cut like Williams-Lara it's absolutely unfair to the fans and the sport.
