Comments Thread For: Seth Mitchell's Options For 8/27: Mike Mollo and Travis Kauffman

Former world title contender Michael Grant of Chicago, Ill., journeyman Mike Mollo of Oak Lawn, Ill., and prospect Travis Kauffman of Reading, Pa., are among the top opponents being considered for the Aug. 27 return of unbeaten American heavyweight prospect Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell of Brandywine, MD., and the undercard of a main event featuring WBA interim junior welterweight king Marcos Rene Maidana against southpaw WBO and WBA interim lightweight champion Robert Guerrero at the HP Pavilion, San Jose, Calif.

Hopefully they sign someone NOW! I hate it when opponents are signed late so they have not enough time to get in good shape.
I think he should fight Mollo now and after that Grant or Johnson.
The fight against Mollo would be a nice brawl.

I don't think Seth Mitchell's American best hope for a young heavyweight to become the champion. I really think within the next year or two we'll see Deontay Wilder take charge in the division . Seth Mitchell just doesn't have the height needed to compete with today's 6'-5'' or above heavyweights .

Seth Mitchell has the size though. He's 245 pounds. I don't think his height is going to hurt him to much

He's got good hand speed and power. He may be short, but his size means no ones is going to be pushing him around the ring. His chin hasn't been tested and we really don't know how good his stamina is, but if those things are decent then he has the build to be a good pressure fighter.

But it will likely be the tomato can Travis Kauffman.

Or Mike Mollo, who was once a decent prospect but was ruined by inactivity after making the mistake of signing with DOn King.
mollo is a firtha\gavern type fighter & king got him the golota fight on HBO & got him in the WBC eliminator vs mccline in his china PPV.he got injured so his gavern fight got called off...he had a draw with garry gomez but that was just a get active again fight.don king put a couple of nice fights together for mollo but he failed to deliver...he did you go to the wlad\haye fight in germany?

I talked to Eric Gomez at the Guerrero-Maidana presser yesterday about who they would match for Seth Mitchell. He said it would be an HBO quality fight. Neither of those dudes are HBO quality. Will also be a 10-rounder.

I think Kauffman should step up for this one. He was on a roll until the Grano loss, which was questionable. He has a month and a half to get ready...Unless he is like 300lbs or something he should step up. It is now or never for him. This is the stage he is looking for....If he'd beat Mitchell, Grano would have to give him a rematch and then he could beat him and move on in his career. I reallly hope Kauffman jumps on this.

Michael Grant would be a quality enough step up in competition. Kauffman and Grano are garbage and not HBO quality. Grant put up a decent scrap against Adamek.

I don't think Kauffman is that great but the only thing *****ell has that Kauffman doesn't is golden boy promoting him. I do not see mitchell being able to keep up with kauffmans mobility or boxing skills. Mitchelll is just a meat head weight lifter/ failed football player with no boxing skills. Sure he lOoks good throwing bombs at cannon fodder, but he'd be biting off more than he could chew why fighting Kauffman who had a decorated amateur career and has been arreolas and Aramaic sparring partner.
