    Anyone ELse Dislike RJJs Style?

Well I personaly hate it, I give him respect like I do to anyone who has made it but I just cant stand his fighting style. If I was to fight him, Id take my gloves off and drop kick him in the head...thats how much he pisses me off.

    Am I the only one?

Plus in the end of it all he looks silly as hell when he gets beat by a guy who's just there boxing and not putting on a broadway show.

No, his style wasone of a kind and you'll be hard pressed to find any boxer in history to match his hand speed and skill level.

I'm not writing it off, I just find it annoying...

I always felt like if he went in with a solid chin slugger his own size, he'd be made a full of.

The people who truely hated Jones style were his opponents in the ring. The guy was elusive and fast as hell. You may dislike his style but you would hate it if you had to fight him. Boxing is not rushing straight in and exchanging blows until somebody falls. If your blood was not pumping because of a lack of solid and continuous exchanges, that would tell me something. But it tells me more because my blood would always get pumping watching the subtle movements and split second reactions that the guy offered up in most of his fights. Boxing is not just blood and gore. Its strategy and planning and well....boxing.

Roy Jones fought guys that were naturally bigger than him for most of his career.

I tottaly agree mate, I'm not the type who likes Lennox vs. Vitali type of fight, although it is interesting to watch once in a while, but I just thought that a lot of what Jones did was not neccesary, a lot of it is just to make himself LOOK different. He still could have done what he needs to do in order to win withouht dancing around the ring, thats what I think.

Im talking about him fighting human tanks like Hatton and Peter who will just ram into you and beeat the **** out of your kidneys. Only reason Peter didnt plow through Wlad was because Wlad is strong enough to keep him off.

I can definitely see how some people don't like the showboating. I don't like it much either. Well, except for when Toney tried to copy his moves and got knocked off balance. And the knockdown punch with both his hands behind his back against the ropes. Roy did have a tendancy to let his fights drag on longer than they needed to. He tried to put on a show rather than the Tyson style early KO.

Strong enough to keep him off, Wlad just hit the canvas three times and the "boxer" won by three points.
