Thank You, Ricky Hatton!

Hatton was a good champ. He epitomized all the qualities one could look for in a real champion. He never backed down, fought with all of his heart, and took the toughest task with a smile on his face, as he was accompanied by thousands of British fans. I believe the Pac loss has made a lot of posters underrate Hatton, as is evident by the word bum being associated with him. He might not be a Pacquiao, or Mayweather, but he definitely was no bum. Perhaps, a loss does harm a fighter in terms of how one views the fighter.Comment

Ricky Hatton you were hard to defend during your career because of the many haters. They called you a one dimensional and a come forward boxer who uses his face as defense. When you lost to Duckweather people called for your retirement but you went on to win two redeeming fights first against a tune up and the second to a featherfisted big mouth boxer.
Anyways, enjoy your retirement and obviously you are successful in promoting since we had seen 2 British boxers fight for world title fights even though they fell short miserably. Now, Darren Barker against Sergio Martinez. Anyway, hope you get lucky and one of your fighters clinch the championship belt.Comment

well said................Here in UK we had to endure Ricky Hatton for close to a decade and his overhyped fans and overhyped media and around 2005 I had a dislike for Ricky because of that.
He went on to earn my respect and fought the best of his era and gave it his 100% al on every time out.
Now he's gone, I've come to miss him.
Thanks for a great career and great entertainment, Ricky!
just hope ricky focus on his promotions to help keep himself out of troubles...Comment

Watching Ricky fly into that turnbuckle after his fans boo'd the US National Anthem was one of my most enjoyable experiences as a boxing fan.
Saying that; Ricky was the man. Fought his heart out and fought the best. I think the fact that he got beat up by Manny and Floyd and got a couple of hometown deicisons really make posters resent the hell out of him, but he was an excellent fighter the kind of which is good for boxing.
Thanks for the fights, Hitman.
