Dumb move for team vanes if they go through with this fight. This fight does nothing for him and it's pointless.... He's already a mandatory for a bigger belt so why fight these bums for another ****** mandatory shot. Vanes shouldn't b fighting mandatories at this stage of his career, he should be the mandatoy and fight the champs.... I don't get this fight at all !!! SMH

Latimore is not really a bum bro and considering Vanes' irregular chin, he can be a real danger. I wish he would fight Alvarez though, it's nothing but good for the sport. If Vanes wins we can forget about another hyped fighter, if Alvarez wins the Vanes supporters can go away. I don't see the big deal with this guy, he's nothing to be impressed with.

I think this could be a good fight to watch, but Vanes really needs his shot. Its time to see if he can make the step up.

Good fight for Vanes and one I see him winning as well..Alvarez won't be fighting an opponent like Vanes for another two or three yrs..Vanes is not the best fighter at 154lb(at least he has not proven it yet)but he is a fighter with a fighter mentality..Very dangerous fight for Alvarez at this point in his career,I don't expect to see that fight any time soon..

Couldn't agree with you more... Team vanes should be embarrassed at this "proposed" eliminatory even being talked about... Fighting an eliminator to fight k9??? Gimme a effin break, vanes needs to be given the shot at that worthless belt without having to win an eliminator bs latimore or else they should spit at that belt and let k9 hang on to it or whatever... In my eyes eventhiugh this would be a good fight vanes is taking a major step back by even considering this as his next option... Go after dzinziruk, k9, etc. But latimore as an eliminator???? Guys with 22-5 records fight eliminators not a 30-0 fighter who's got a silver WBC strap already

You make no sense - u say it would be a good fight, then bash it. If it's a good fight, then it's a good fight.
Plus, just b/c fighters who don't deserve eliminators gets them doesn't mean Vanes shouldnt fight in one. He is actually the type of fighter who SHOULD be fighting an eliminator - an undefeated contender who has never fought a world class fighter

Rome by KO is right - this is a good fight to make - both fighters are top 10-15 quality, yet don't have the name recognition. a win over the other and a win over k-9 could help one of them get it; and then get a bigger fight against Alvarez or cotto
