lol, why does Zab Judah jab?

Just watching the Mabuza fight & Zab has got a pointless jab, he throws out a non-effective jab, thrown with no purpose looks ike he just throws it for the heck of it, doesn't throw it to set up any other punches & to top it off he's circling all the time around the ring, probably the reason he get's tired is this.

Wouldn't it be better with Judah style just do have slight movement, not throw these pointless jabs as much, just enough to get his oppenent to let his hands go, stay in range to counter with the left?

He is pretty lazy overall having a lazy jab should not be that surprising.

When I think of a strong jab I think of consistency that certainly isn't Zab.

That's the thing though, why is he still throwing it, he hasn't got a great engine, so wasting your punches by doing these pointless jabs that aren't scoring will only help him gas more, esspecialy when he's running & jabbing.

The guy has a learning problem by the looks if it.

He should just feint with it, get a reaction, then throw the straight left hand like he did against Floyd. I haven't seen him do it like that no more.

He has a work ethic issue, He has talent but didn't have the drive to truly reach beyond and hone his fine natural talent. he was content with having great talent because it worked pretty well.

He has to throw a jab and it does set up other things even if it is weak. It is not a fight winning punch but it still serves a purpose to timing, range and controlling the other guy which are all things he needs to set up his better punches.

The sad thing is he has spent his whole life around the sport, so he had ample opportunity to really refine his abilities. He seems to be working harder now though and taking his career more seriously, also sad that he is doing that only now.

What is funny is I liked Zab recently because of the Matthysse fight, because Matthysse seemed like the sort of guy that could give Zab quite a few issues but Zab managed to hold up to him.

What is even funnier is that people thought Matthysse was some scrub and Mabuza was a better fighter~

It's funny because a lot of fighters use an ineffective jab and it's the most important punch in boxing.

The jab serves a lot of purposes, having a nice strong long jab is a killer generally though.

I like when guys use the jab differently, I think changing up is more effective than constantly going full out on every one, but there is something to be said for that way of doing things also especially if a guy has a jab like I described above.
